Raphael has dirty blonde-lightbrown-brown hair most of the time and depending on the lighting of where he is at the time. He has blue eyes and stands at a dead 6 foot and weight a light for his height, 155lbs. He's been told that he has soft and almost feminine features and has frequently been mistaken for gay. This makes him feel a little uncomfortable and so he blushes quite a bit, his usually pale cheeks turning a dark-ish reddy-pink.
He's not adverse to the sun and tans quite well come summer, his hair's a little longer than his mother likes but that's just his way of rebelling. He's frequently made un-easy which is why he's often seen falling over or trembling. Not many people can approach and talk to him without setting off his stutter though once he feels comfortable with a person he can relax a little more and tends not to act like a fool.

Having been sheltered all his life, Raphael is a rather distant from people and just living life. He's very reserved and shy and takes a while to get to know people. He usually warms up to those that have looked out for him a couple of times, stopped bullies picking on him and that sort of thing.
Raphael is a rather clingy sort of person, he's grown up practically attached to his mother while his sister was more the son their father had wanted. While he's at Hogwart's though he projects his feelings about his mother onto his closest friends and rarely strays from them but he does get annoying every now and then, who doesn't?
Raphael was kept inside a lot as a boy, he was taught every sort of manner and did everything he could to keep his mother happy and proud, this include becoming extremely musical and his favourite instrument to play is the piano, preferably a grand piano but most will do as long as they are in tune and if they are not then he can tune them by ear.
He's not a social sort of person, never having gone to many of the pure blood parties growing up because of his mother's fear of him getting sick, but at the same time he loves being social. He won't make the first move and he has to warm up to you before he even attempts to get along with you but once he's comfortable with you then he could start acting more relaxed and even fun!

From the moment he was born a lot of pressure was placed on Raphael Tiberius Nott. His parents had been told they could not conceive after a rather difficult pregnancy and birth with his older sister and yet here he was. The couple tried and tried and tried for another child, another son, but to no avail, they had just the two children and hoped to god that their son turned out the way they wanted.
Raphael grew up in a very protected home, he rarely saw the outside world and was kept sheltered by his fretful mother who panicked he might get sick after he had a bought of pneumonia as an infant. He was coddled by his mother and his sister grew jealous very easily. She picked on him every way she could up until it was time to go to Hogwarts. Having almost two full years without his sister was bliss and Raphael enjoyed living more than he thought possible.
The time came for Raphael to go to Hogwarts too and fear washed over him. He did not want to leave his mothers side and all though his sister had promised to protect him she was the first to bully him on the train ride to Hogwarts, taunting him for being a weak and pathetic mummy's boy.
A lot of pressure had been placed of Raphael to be in the house of the serpent like both his parents before him but the time came to be sorted and he remembered his trip on the Hogwarts Express. Slytherin's had bullied him left right and centre up until a couple of Gryffindor's had come along and saved him, invited him back to their carriage and looked after him.
Raphael feared being in Slytherin, he'd had two years at home without his sister bullying him and if he was in Slytherin then she'd be able to pick on him every day again and so Raphael begged to be sorted into Gryffindor where he knew people that would help protect him from his sister and other potential bullies and that was exactly where he was placed.
Raphael gets picked on nearly every day by someone but he has a close group of friends that help look out for him, he has no interest in girls or guys and is happiest when he's left alone to sing.
