Lyra is your typical girl next door, only any guys moving in next door would probably think their luck was in, since she's pretty gorgeous. She has a very lovely heart shaped face, with plump lips and a beautiful rounded nose. Her cheekbones are nicely defined, and she has the most stunning smile, her teeth all perfectly straight and white. She has big round eyes, in a warm chocolate brown shade, with thick black lashes. Her eyebrows are usually plucked to be neat and pretty, and she often has one arched. Her hair is very thick and lustrous, there's so much of it, it falls down her back to around waist length, and is naturally straight, but she sometimes likes to add a bit of a wave to it for a more girlish touch.
Lyra is five feet and eight inches in height, with a slender, pretty figure to go with it. She doesn't really do much to stay slim, and puts her appealing figure down to having a young, hard working metabolism. She has long legs, which seem to go on forever when she wears skirts or dresses to show them off. She is usually on the paler side, having only a light golden hint to her in the hottest months. She doesn't like the orange look at all, and often cringes when she sees girls walking around looking like a tangerine.

Her worst memory is the day she accidentally broke her fathers wand. He had fallen asleep on the couch, and left it on the seat next to him, and seven year old Lyra had sat next to him to wake him up and snapped it clean in two. Even her mother couldn't fix it. Her father had completely lost his rag over that one, and she still cringes to think of it to this day.

Lyra is just a regular nice girl. She's friendly and open-minded, and gives people a fair chance, and even a second one in most cases. She likes to be surrounded by friends, but not in a way where she never gets time for herself. Alone time is very important to her, since it's the only way she can truly relax and unwind at the end of each day. She adores the privacy the Ravenclaw dorms offer, with desks and wardrobes blocking her from others' view as she sleeps or curls up by herself.
She is always happy for someone to draw the curtain back though, and keep her company. She's very generous and helpful, and tries to be there for people, even if they're not her friend. She can't pass a first year in the corridor if they're crying, or even if they just look a bit lost. She's very kind and caring, and makes sure she does her best by people all of the time. Lyra is very intelligent, and quick of mind. She is great at most classes, though she's only human, and does have her weak points. She always hands homework in on time, and helps out anybody who might need a bit of academic guidance. She's a very patient, calm tutor, and if someone doesn't understand what she's trying to tell them, she'll try out at least ten different ways of explaining it before getting a bit annoyed.
She can be moody at times, as most teenage girls can, and she often regrets times like these, because she pushes people away. She's not the snappy type who will made nasty comments when they're frustrated or upset, she will just reject any offers of company and refuse to socialize until she is feeling better. Sort of like a hermit. She is sensible, but liked to have a giggle with friends. She's not exactly a kill joy, but she doesn't like the idea of breaking rules, so she'll join in with fun if it's not going to lead to trouble, otherwise she will politely excuse herself.

Lyra doesn't really have an epic tale to tell, though she intends to make herself one once she leaves school. She was born to a Pureblood couple - Mira Aldebaran and Rigel Dragomir - in a small town on the Isle of Man, and is as close to the middle child as you can get in a family with six children. She has an older sister, an older brother, younger twin siblings - a boy and a girl - and a baby sister. She loves having a lot of siblings, as she's never short of company or someone to turn to if she needs something, or just a cuddle. Her family is pretty huge, with three uncles, an auntie, and a bunch of cousins all living in the same small town. It is family tradition that they are all named after stars or constellations, and so some of her family's names are pretty ridiculous, and Lyra is always grateful that she got a better deal with her own name.
Her parents worked hard all their lives, her mother a wandmaker, and father a hit wizard, which can be pretty dangerous and leaves him a bit highly strung because of the stress of the job. Lyra understands his temper, but she has always tried her best to avoid it, and was closer to her mother from a young age. She enjoyed playing wizards chess and exploding snap with her brothers and sisters, and it was soon evident that she was a highly intelligent child. Her parents made sure to keep her bedroom stocked up with new books for her to drink in all of the time, and they encouraged her with her learning.
What Lyra really loved though, was music. She had dreamed since she was three years old of becoming a singer, even better than Celestina Warbreck, or the Weird Sisters! She had quite the talent for it, too, which made her dream that little bit more realistic. She would spend hours every day in the back garden choreographing dance routines and belting out songs at the top of her lungs, then putting on shows for her family, who were always a great audience. She had to adjust when it was time to go to Hogwarts, and she wouldn't have time any more to sing and dance like she so loved to do. She was made up when she found out there was a school choir, and auditioned in her first week, getting in easily and feeling infinitely more comfortable with her new environment. She still hopes to be a singer when she leaves school, and intends to follow her dream until someone helps it to become a reality.
