Five feet and seven inches in height, Sharla is classed as tall, and though she is slim, she has curves galore, especially up top, and doesn't really understand how she isn't overweight and flabby, since she eats chocolate like there's no tomorrow. She has youth on her side, though, and always looked younger than her years, even as a child, which she counts as a blessing, even as she waits for the day gravity kicks in, and her eating habits make themselves visible on her slender frame. She dresses to suit her curves, not afraid to wear fitted outfits and things that show off her long legs. She figures she might as well show it off while she's still got it, so has no qualms about flashing a bit of flesh. All in good taste, of course.
She has a very pretty face, slim, like the rest of her, with delicate features. Her nose is neat and straight, coming to a dainty, pointed tip; lips full and kissable, often forming a pout without her making them do so. Her chin is very elf-like, and her cheekbones are good enough to receive the odd compliment. She has the most beautiful blue eyes, wide and huge, and sparkling in their azure glory. With neat brows and long lashes, she is definitely a beautiful young woman, no question about it. Her smile is on the smaller side, though her teeth are dazzlingly perfect, and when she crinkles her nose along with it, her grin can be incredibly infectious. Sharla's hair is of the darkest browns, with a lot of black in there, too. It sits a few inches below her shoulders and is naturally pretty straight, though she likes to wave it, and try out fun styles every day, so she never usually looks the same when you see her. She likes to experiment.

During her Auror training, Sharla was accompanying a few of her superiors on a job. There had been more than enough deaths in a Welsh wizarding village to warrant panic, and so they had been sent in to investigate. Let's just say the crazy ass wizard responsible for the killings, was eager to add to his list, and Sharla was fired at by the Killing Curse. The only reason she lives to tell the tale is because one of the older Aurors, a man whose name she hadn't even learned yet, pushed her out of the way, taking the curse himself. Just thinking about the fact that she almost died at the age of 18, and of the man whose life was lost because of her, still haunts her every day. She'll never lose the guilt that comes with that experience.

Tiger - Sharla's happiest memory was the day she got the teaching job at Hogwarts. Though she had enjoyed her exhilarating years as an Auror, the relief at suddenly knowing she would be safe every day when she went to work, was immense, and she felt like she had suddenly been given permission to live and stop worrying all of the time about when and where she was going to be killed.

A rebel at heart, though an angel on the surface, Sharla is a walking contradiction, though she seems to be getting better with age at being her true self. She is always good to people, kind and generous and full of fair chances, and has a reputation for being a sweetheart, who would give you the shirt off her back if you needed it. This is all true, and she does her best to be the kind of caring person that people will only ever remember good things about. She's always there to offer up a smile or a laugh, and likes to take care of people, being very affectionate and tactile, in general.
Outside of that, Sharla is also incredibly bubbly, and has the ability to shock the people who think they know her best, with her outrageous actions when the mood strikes. She likes to break rules and push boundaries, believing that limits set for people should always be overcome in order to better oneself. She does have her limits, of course, as she's not quite suicidal in her reckless pursuit of life - her Auror career aside - but she loves to laugh and have as much fun as possible, and anyone she can bring along on the journey, she will. She's very witty and sharp-tongued, and sometimes says things that upset people, because she just thinks they should know what she thinks. She can be loud, to counterbalance her quiet, pensive periods, and she can be a bitch when you force her to be.
Sharla does have a dark side. She's manipulative, knowing exactly how to get just what she wants from people. She's also an expert at making people think she's on their side, or that she understands their point of view, and agrees with them, when in reality, she doesn't even like them, and is just trying to shut them up or find out information. She can be highly secretive, and doesn't reveal all of herself to anyone in life. She's stubborn as a mule and won't be bossed around by anyone, or forced to tell people things about herself, just to satisfy their nosy nature. She's very strong-willed, and once she makes her mind up about something - though it might take a ridiculous amount of time - there's no budging her on it. She can be venomous with her temper, and though she tries to just blank the hell out of people she doesn't like, and give them her Ice Bitch routine, she can't always hold her tongue, and will turn into a raging, vicious banshee when truly angered.

Born to Genevieve and Arcturus Velvet in the heart of Autumn, Sharla was the eldest child. The first born. The one with the weight of the world instantly placed on her shoulders by expectant parents. She was a bold child, always full of life and playfulness at home, though becoming shy and withdrawn in public. She had a reputation for being "just lovely", and was generally good as gold, so long as no one tried to tell her what to do, or force her into things. Even as a toddler she was wilful, and though she would happily play by herself all day, if her mother dared to try to get her to eat a meal that she didn't want, there would be tantrums galore. It was obvious from a young age that she would not be pushed about.
When she was three years old, her parents gave her a sibling, having another daughter, Fauna who turned out to be much more willing to please than her big sister. Nevertheless, Sharla adored her baby sister, taking care of her, and always being there to help when things went wrong. Despite how different they were, the sisters became close, though as they got older, they did disapprove of each other's ethics. Sharla didn't like how her sister seemed to suck up to their parents all of the time, and was so easily swayed into adopting their stiff views on life. Fauna thought Sharla too "out there", and often voiced her wishes that Sharla would calm down and be more sensible and conservative. Unfortunately, they both inherited their father's stubborn streak, so neither will change. They work around their issues for the sake of their close relationship, though being the black sheep of the family only made Sharla more determined to follow her own path, and prove the three of them wrong about life and how it should be lived.
Her parents being so vehemently against those reckless Aurors, Sharla promised herself she would prove them wrong. Prove that stuffy, safe people weren't always better off in life, and weren't always superior to those that risked their neck to save others. Upon leaving school, she went on to become one of the youngest Aurors in the Ministry, her fierce determination securing her the job, so that at nineteen, she was thrown into the thick of things, only two years of training under her belt. She enjoyed it greatly, loving the thrill of the job and the thought that she was doing something good, something worthwhile. After almost four years, though, waking up every day to the knowledge that it might be your last, started to take it's toll, and when an opening at Hogwarts came up, Sharla decided to go for it.
Defence Against the Dark Arts had always been one of her strongest subjects in her school years, and applying for the position was as easy as breathing to her, something that was obvious to the school, as they hired her a few weeks later, and she found herself packing her things and moving into the castle she called home for the seven most important years of her childhood. She loves her job, and the fact that it's safe, and there's no risk of her dying, along with her dreams of old age and grandchildren, makes it perfect, in her eyes, and she loves to teach everything she knows to her students, to give them the best chance possible out in the real world.
