Ginny is so obviously a Weasley one would never need to ask her what her maiden name was. Her hair is a vivid red and although she has had it cut short before she now wears it long and loose although when doing the house work she ties it back. She also tied it back when she is in one of her 'moods' and its generally a good idea to get out of her way during this time. She has a healthy spattering of freckles over her nose and when her chin is set had a scary resemblance to her brother George.
Like some of her older brothers Ginny is quite short in height, standing at only 5'5 she is jealous of how tall her brother Ron is but as she has grown up she has made up her height with heels. Her build reflects her height and she is quite slim thanks to years of being on a Quidditch team and even with being retired she spends that much time running around after her family that she keeps the weight off anyway.
As a Tomboy growing up Ginny scorned things like make up and dresses. Not that she needed it to be noticed. All through school her brothers often thought she was too popular for her own good and she certainly had her fair share of boyfriends. However as she has gotten older she has started to do more to her daily beauty regime and although she doesn't bother when staying at home or playing Quidditch she will spend time curling her hair and putting a bit of make up on. She stills scorns dresses but will wear a skirt suit when having to go to the office although this is a rare occurrence. She always wears her engagement and wedding rings, refusing to take them off although if her daughter ever decided to marry she would pass the engagement ring on to her. She also wears a locket with pictures of her husband and kids.

overall personality[/i]
Growing up with six brothers Ginny grew up to be something of a Tomboy. She wasn't afraid to speak her mind, rejected pretty much anything classed as 'girly' and was a lively and energetic young girl. Living with a family like her there just wasn't any other way of growing up and despite being the only girl born in a few generations she was quite happy to rough and tumble with her brothers and helping her mother out around the house.
Ginny isn't afraid to stand up to people and tends to speak her mind even when its the wrong time and place to do so. She stood up to Draco when he insulted Harry and tended to be very harsh when it came to people she disliked. When her brother Bill became engaged to Fleur she hated the very thought of it as she was very close to her brother and disapproved the match. For anyone else she disliked she had cruel words and the best bat bogey hex you will ever see.
During her years at Hogwarts she was quite a popular girl, finding it easy to make friends with those around her. She was always willing to stand up for others and gained a good friend in Luna by doing so. Her brothers tended to think she was too popular for her own good with boys but she didn't really care and told them so quite often- she would date who she wanted thank you very much! She was quick witted and had a good humour, often entertaining her friends with her impressions of people. The most notable of this was when she perfectly copied Umbridge's cough causing everyone to jump during the first of the DA meetings.
Despite her acting skills, her popularity and feisty personality Ginny has always had a darker side to her personality since her first year at school. Although of pure heart she can never forget that she had been possessed by Voldemort and although she does not remember everything she had done during that time she can never forget the horror of learning just a few of the things that had happened. She still has nightmares about it.
And then there is Harry. Despite being such an upfront person, every time she was around Harry Potter she was attacked by a paralysing shyness that struck every time she came in the same room as him. Having had something of a crush on the thought of him meeting him for the first time had brought on a hero worship that only stopped when Hermione gave her advice helping her to overcome it. Once she was relaxed and back to her normal self Harry finally noticed her and she is proud to say that she was the only person able to get him out of his self pity party. She loves him more than anything (apart from her children) and his death has shaken her completely. Devastated does not even begin to describe her feelings on finding his body. She is guilt ridden that she wasn't there to help him and yet so thankful that her children were safe with her. His death has shattered a part of her that cannot be fixed and unfortunately for her children she is now very paranoid about their safety, sending them owls weekly for updates and getting news from the teachers she knows in the school.

history[/i]
Ginny was born to Arthur and Molly Weasley on the 11th August 1981. She was the seventh child in the family and the only girl to be born to the Weasley name in a long time and the last of a generation. Being the only girl and the youngest her mother was incredibly over protective of her and stopped her from doing things with her older brothers like quidditch -although that never stopped her for by the age of six she was stealing their brooms at night- and even her oldest brothers were protective of her, especially when she started school. Having older siblings meant she was very much aware of Hogwarts and their house was always alive with magic so for as long as she can remember she had been looking forward to the day she would attend the school. This want of going meant that when Ron went for his first year she begged her mother to allow her to go, despite being too young at the time. Not even the promise of plenty of owls and a Hogwarts toilet seat prevented her from running down the platform after the train to wave goodbye to her brothers. It was also very notable in her mind for it was the first time she had ever lain eyes on the famous Harry Potter and when they returned to Kings Cross at the end of the year she would loudly point him out to her mother.
It was after this first time she had seen Harry that she developed a crush on him, made worse by the fact that Ron and the twins had rescued him from his family during the summer before she was due to start at the school. Constantly around him she would often clam up or run out of the room, refusing to speak to him and often blushing as red as her hair, causing her family to wonder at her behaviour for it was so un-Ginny like they didn't know what to do about it. She often thinks back to that summer with a fond smile on her face, wondering why she had acted in such a way for she hasn't behaved like it since but it is a fond memory and she wouldn't change it for the world.
Her excitement at receiving her acceptance letter was dampened only by the fact that she would not be able to afford brand new things although when they went shopping in Diagon Alley Harry gave her a set of Lockhart's books – this act of kindness towards her shook some of her shyness away and she stood up to Draco Malfoy when he started to insult him. During these few moments Draco's father slipped the diary in with her other books and started what would become one of the worst years of her life. When she started school she found this diary and began to write in it, pouring out her feelings to Riddle's memory and becoming vulnerable to its will. By Halloween of that year he was able to take complete control of her, opening the chamber and releasing the Basilisk onto the school. Having no memories of what took place Ginny became increasingly paranoid and worried that she was the one attacking the students although her behaviour was often put down to things like a bad cold and being fond of cats. She often wonders why her brothers were so blind to her behaviour but has since come to the conclusion that they are all morons. Despite getting rid of the diary at christmas she soon had possession of it again after finding that Harry had found it, and not wanting him to be tainted by it trashed his dorm room looking for it. Riddle, now realising he could get Harry through Ginny forced her to write a message on a corridor wall and fed off her until she slipped into a unconscious state. She knows nothing of what happened during the time she was out, coming to only after Riddle had been defeated.
Ginny's second year was very tame compared to the first. During the summer her father had won some money in a competition and for the first time she was able to visit her beloved older brother in Egypt where she spent most of her time visiting tombs although her mother refused to let her go into the one thanks to their being mutated skeletons. Since they were away right up until the day before they had to take the train they stayed at the Leaky Cauldron where Harry was also staying. Thanks to him saving her the year before and the intense crush she had on him she could barely look him in the eye and was thankful for when she could get away from him although they shared a moment on the train platform when Percy was trying to impress his girlfriend. On the train she was separated from her brothers when the Dementors attacked and thanks to the year before was one of the worst to be affected. Apart from that her year was incredibly boring.
Ginny's third year was the fourth for Harry, Ron and Hermione and brought about the Quidditch world cup and the Triwizard tournament. She attended the world cup with her friends and family and teased her brother endlessly about his fixation on Krum. However it ended badly with Dementors attacking the camp site and although her family were unharmed she was incredibly shaken up by it. This feeling was only made worse when Harry's name was pulled out of the Triwizard cup when they returned to school. She spent hours worrying about him and still harbouring feelings for him was disappointed to learn that she could have attended the ball with him had she not already agreed to go with Neville. Not that it stopped her from being jealous of Cho Chang of course. At the ball she took Hermione's advice from the beginning of the year and began dating Michael Corner.
Due to Cedric's murder and the revelation that Voldemort had in fact returned the Weasley family relocated to London where her parents became active members of the Order of the Phoenix. Thanks to her age Ginny was often thrown out of rooms when they had their meetings although she still doesn't know why they bothered...Hermione always told her what was being said! Despite the reasons why they had moved, Ginny enjoyed the few weeks spent there. She learnt the truth about Sirius Black and made a new friend in Tonks. Better still Harry was around her and although nothing was happening between the two she was glad to be near him. Going back to school therefore was something of a nightmare. Like the rest of Hogwarts Ginny held a deep hatred from Professor Umbridge and jumped at the chance to learn proper defensive magic from Harry. Apart from having an excuse to be around her friends she wanted the chance to prove she was more than just the youngest child in a long family. Her proudest moment of this particular year was coming up with the name 'Dumbledore's Army' and showing that she was really a very talented witch when it came to Duelling, gaining Harry's praise and making her brothers jealous.
However, this was short lived for her father was attacked near christmas and like the rest of her family she was sent to Grimmauld place to be with him. Having noticed Harry acting more out of the way than normal she made it her mission to find out why and upon learning that he thought himself to be the one to attack her dad she railed on him for not coming to see her, reminding him that she was the only other person in the country who could know what it was like being possessed by the mad man that was Voldemort. Sharing her experiences with him was one of the best and worst things to do. It was painful remembering what had happened to her in her first year but at the same time it helped him get over his self pity and brought them closer than ever before. When they returned to school they often met up in the library eating chocolate and talking and occasionally getting chased out by Madam Pince for doing so but she loved every moment she had with him and wished for them never to end.
When Harry had a vision about Sirius being attacked Ginny was one of the five who went with him to London, willing to follow him anywhere. During the battle that ensued Ginny was threatened with torture by Bellatrix Lestrange and when running through a room was grapped by the ankle causing it to break. Although not really hurt she did not take part further in the fight. On the train home she confided with her friends that she had ditched Michael after a Quidditch match as he was being moody about the score and that she had already moved on to date Dean Thomas much to Ron's horror.
Fifth year brought Professor Slughorn to the school. Ginny had cursed a fellow student on the train and was caught although much to her surprise was invited to join his 'Slug Club' as he had been impressed with her hex. Further to this surprise she tried out for the Quidditch team and gained her coveted position of chaser and following a match was caught by Ron and Harry kissing Dean. Unfortunately this brought on something of a rift between herself and Ron and for some time they had a frosty relationship towards one another- made worse by Ron dating Lavender. This rift was fixed when Ron was poisoned and she had Harry spoke often about how and why the poisoning had happened. Ginny left Dean a while after this and having taken Harry's position of seeker for a match was overjoyed to have won the match, the cup and Harry for they kissed in the post match celebration. She can still remember the very moment it happened. She didn't care about not spending all that much time with him due to exams...she was just happy they were together at last.
This joy was short lived by Draco Malfoy being outed as a Death Eater and she took a part in keeping an eye out on what was happening. During the fight that ensued she held her own against Carrow, coming away from the duel with no injuries although she was horrified to find that Bill Weasley had been badly injured and scarred by Greyback. However, she accepted that perhaps Fleur was the woman for her brother after seeing how much the other woman loved her brother despite the disfigurement to his face (having hated the woman all through the summer). She was the one to lead Harry away from Dumbledore's body and comfort him and even after the funeral and Harry breaking up with her she remained calm and understood his need to protect her. She didn't have to like it but she understood.
Ginny's sixth year is perhaps the most important of all her young life. Having moved Harry to the Burrow she was saddened at Mad Eye's death and the death of Harry's owl Hedwig. Despite this and George losing an ear she was glad that Harry and her family were safe and despite keeping her distance from Harry she couldn't help but kiss him with all her heart on his birthday, knowing that he would soon leave her and that nothing else she gave him would be small enough to take away. She will be forever glad that she had done this for on the day of her brother's wedding they were attacked by Death Eaters and for some months she would not see Harry again. With no Harry at Hogwarts Ginny, Neville and Luna restarted the DA and openly defied the regime that had settled onto the school and despite being caught and punished for it held onto the beliefe that Harry would return victorious.
When Harry did return Molly and Arthur forbade their daughter from joining in the fight, much to her indignation and although she agreed to stay in the room of requirement the moment Harry had to remove her from the room she left him to do what he needed to do and ran to jump into the fray. There was no way she was going to sit back and let everyone else fight for their loved ones if she couldn't as well! However, even with her determination to protect her family her brother Fred was still killed, leaving her heartbroken. She was forced to push these feelings to the side however as she helped those injured outside the castle. She has no idea that it was at this time that Harry left them to go to the forest and the next moment she saw him was to a vision of horror. Before them was his seemingly dead body! She screamed and cried louder than anyone at the sight, her heart shattering to pieces as she did so and when the battle resumed she channelled this grief into attacked Bellatrix and helped fend her off until her mother took over. Although there is so much pain and anguish with this memory Ginny cannot help but look back on this moment with a small twitch of a smile at the memory of her mother actually swearing. After witnessing the end of Voldemort by Harry Ginny spent some time with her family, repairing what needed to be repaired and mourning the loss of some many of her family and friends.
Some time after the war and once things had settled down somewhat Ginny pursued her relationship with Harry, refusing to let him out of her site again after what he had put her through over the last few years. It didn't take long for them to get married and it was no surprise to anyone else since it had been obvious since they were children that this was the way they were going to go. The day she married was the happiest she thought she could ever be for everything was perfect. It wasn't a large wedding -not counting the sheer amount of Weasley's- but it was perfect for them and she soon settled down into married life, juggling being a professional Quidditch player with being a wife.
As soon as she found out she was pregnant with her oldest son however she retired from the field after Harry freaked out over the safety of playing with a child growing inside of her and took a job with the Daily Prophet. She enjoyed it, it was easy work and not too demanding. Harry was a very amusing father to be. Having wanted a family of his own for so long he spent hours pouring over baby books and redecorating the nursery of their home every colour under the sun until she forbade him from doing so again. Not that she could blame him. She was terrified! It was their first child together and she had no idea what to do. Every other day was spent fire calling her mother or owling Hermione asking for advice but the day James was brought into the world she soon forgot all those fears. Seeing her bundle of joy in her arms brought her to tears and the love she felt for her baby was unparalleled to anything she had experienced before.
Of course after James brought two more shining suns into her world and she can honestly say that she has never been happier. Seeing her children grow up has made her appreciate the work her own parents put into their lives when she was growing up and encouraged her children to spend as much time around her family as possible. Ginny loved watching Harry spend time with his children for he could never be too busy to be around them and was truly glad that she had been the one to give him such a life. Of course, she was protective of her kids and was often teased for being a little like her own mother but she is proud to say she was never quite that bad! However, her children have been subjected to the Weasley jumpers from both mother and granny!
The day Harry died is the worst day in her memory. Having taken her kids to visit family that night she had been a little annoyed with him wanting to stay at home to work on paperwork but in the end she had gone without him. Coming home to find his body has completely broken her and only the thought of her children has kept her from losing her mind. She tried her best to keep them from seeing the room Harry was found in although like their parents they are all pretty headstrong, wanting to know why their mother was in such a state. She knows that James at least saw the horror in that room and spends more time than she ought thinking about it.
Her parents brought her to the Burrow to get away from having to deal with the removal and everything else the aurors would need to do and she promptly shut herself down. Knowing her children would be looked after the shock of such a thing had her locked away in her room for two weeks. She has never told anyone that for those few weeks she was quite convinced that he was going to do another final battle on them all and reappear alive and well so she could kill him herself for putting them through this.
However, he never came back. The day the reality sunk in was a bad one in that house. Her magic reacted to her emotions and as she screamed, cried and raved about what had happened she broke every mirror and window in the place. She has no idea if her kids were witness to this breakdown or whether they were sent to other relatives... she can only hope they were sent away for she was a truly pitiable sight to behold.
It has taken her some time to get herself back up to something like the Ginny they used to know but it has been the thought of her children that has kept her clinging onto life. They keep her going in the dead of night. Them, and the thought of avenging her soul mate. She isn't quite the same as she used to be of course and now her kids are having to go through a more paranoid than normal mother. She lived through a war, knows what can happen to loved ones and she would be damned to hell if she let anyone even think they can get away with hurting her precious babies!
