physical
physical appearance
Around six feet in height, Tam is strong and physically built to perfection. In his human days, he had a naturally muscly physique, due to his line of work, and becoming a vampire only enhanced this, giving him an extremely sculpted body, that can be quite intimidating. He used to tan pretty well, always having a golden glow about him, but now as a vampire, the colour has faded a lot, and he's a bit more sallow than he'd like, and he's not averse to testing out fake tans every now and then, for the sake of vanity and fitting in with humans.
He has very long hair, in a shade of medium brown, which can look darker of lighter depending on the lighting wherever he is. If he were able to walk in the sun, you would see beautiful golden shades running through it. It sits just below his chin, most of the time, though he has been known to get it cut shorter in the past. His eyes tend to change colour with the weather, so to speak. Naturally a light brown, they can look almost golden when he's in a good mood, and again, if it were possible to see them in the sunlight, they would look green. He has an oval face, with a small button nose, and pouting lips, and he likes to have a little bit of rough around his face, since he thinks he looks too young clean shaven. For school purposes, he uses a vampire glamour to make himself look a tiny bit less mature than he naturally does. Even though his natural age is only twenty years old, he still thinks he'd draw a bit of attention if he didn't make himself look a tad more youthful while at Hogwarts.

likes
Blood. Flirting. Hunting. Learning magic. Books. Drawing. Keeping a diary. People with interesting backgrounds. Being original. A bit of drama. Living forever.
dislikes
Being told what to do. Nosy people. Idiots. Being interrupted when he's reading. Never being able to walk in the sun again. Not being able to feed off of humans while he's at Hogwarts. Weakness. The fact that food he used to love tastes like crap to him. Being denied. Pretending to be younger than he really is.
erised
To live forever, which he's doing a pretty good job of, so far. As a human, he wanted a family more than anything, so I suppose if he looked into the Mirror of Erised, he would see himself as a human, with a loving wife, and children. Sadly this can never be.
amortentia
Blood, Damp earth, Lillies.
boggart
Dying (as in, for good).
dementor
The day he was bitten, oblivious to what was about to happen to him.
patronus
Hawk. Tam's happiest memory comes from a time when he was four years old. His parents took their little family to the countryside to visit relatives, and it was Tam's first time seeing such a place, which was so different from the bustling city he was used to. These relatives owned horses, who lived in a nearby field, and Tam's father took him to see them, lifting him high up on his shoulders so he could reach up to stroke their manes. It was the most giddy and carefree he can ever remember being, and he holds the memory close to his heart, always.
overall personality
Tam is generally a calm person, or at least he is if he's left alone, to his own devices. He likes quiet time, and he appreciates being able to do what he wants, when he wants. He is very much a creature of habit, and he doesn't like people coming in and shaking things up on him. He's happiest when he's sitting in a nice dark corner, reading, or sketching. He's very talented with a pencil, since he's had so many years to perfect the art, but he likes to keep it private, and doesn't often show people his work.
Far from being quite and boring, Tam likes to break rules, and is pretty much a law unto himself. He is sarcastic, and won't hold his opinions back, no matter how harsh they may be. He's always up for a good time, so long as he's in charge, or somebody else has come up with something exceptionally amazing to do, only them will he let another person take the reigns. He likes to drink, and party, though he has to pretend not to while he's at Hogwarts, since it's not something students normally do a lot of. His idea of a good party usually involves hiring a private room in the Hog's Head, and seducing a horde of pretty girls to feed off of all night, with great music playing, and an impressive selection of alcohol at hand. He's not rowdy, really speaking, it's more a case of, he won;t take no for an answer, so Tam can get a bit dramatic if denied or challenged.
He has a mighty temper on him, and if you push the wrong buttons, you usually won't live long enough to realize what you've done. He hates the restrictions Hogwarts puts on him, but the allure of learning magic is too strong for him to resist. Tam has always been highly intelligent, and soaks up books like an eager sponge, never forgetting things that he's taught, or picks up along the way. He's a fast learner, and has the guile to know how to use the things he knows to his benefit. He can be highly manipulative, and very aggressive when pushed. He is ruthless, and won't hesitate to knock people around, or rip people to shreds, verbally. He never regrets anything he does or says, as he's going to live forever, so why the hell should he care? It'll all be forgotten in half a century, so he doesn't worry about anything, really.

history
Born at home in a scruffy part of London, on 24th October 1818, Thomas Ambrose Bellamy was the first child of Rosemarie and Ambrose. A working class family, Ambrose worked hard as a Blacksmith, whilst his wife made fine dresses for the women in town, selling them for money to feed her son. Though his mother always called him Thomas, his full name, his father often shortened his first and middles names, preferring the nickname of 'Tam', which the young boy loved dearly. At the age of three, Tam was given a younger brother, Arthur, or 'Ace', as he would be later called, and he loved being a big brother. Even more-so two years later when another son was added to the family. Miles was the last child Ambrose and Rosemarie had, and the three boys were very close, being so similar in age.
Life was hard, and things were pretty simple in Tam's life. He and his brother's were taught at home by their mother, and allowed to work when they reached the age of ten, in order to help keep their family afloat. Tam used to help his dad out at the smithy, but was offered a small job cleaning stables not too far from home. He loved being close to the horses, and often would sneak in places he shouldn't have been, just to pet them. He was a quiet child, always keeping to himself, and being polite and courteous, as his mother instructed. Little did anyone know the kind of rebellious thoughts that went on inside his pretty little head.
His teen years were a lot harder, since he was the eldest of his brothers, and was expected to get a proper job and find himself a wife as soon as possible. At the age of fifteen, he worked on the carriages, carting people to and fro across the smoggy city, and getting to see a lot more of it than he would have in any other job. He enjoyed the freedom and scope it gave him, and it allowed him to get away from home enough that he didn't feel trapped and pressured, like he was starting to. Pressure was never something Tam was fond of, and it made him resentful. Why did men have to be so responsible and hard working, when women stayed at home and cooked and cleaned? It wasn't fair. The need to be fancy-free was overwhelming in him.
He was having no luck - or rather, didn't want to put in the effort - finding a wife, or any girls that held his interest for more than a night, and upon turning seventeen, he left home, moving an hour away where the fields were greener, and the air was clearer. He started working at a small farm, picking fruit and tending crops and animals, and had set himself up a life filled with privacy and freedom. Almost three years, he spent there, visiting his family as much as possible and having fun, his evenings spent drinking and partying with friends and girls. That was when she crossed his path. The most beautiful crimson hair tumbled down her back as she danced across the bar toward him, ruby lips curving into an innocent smile. Tam was hooked, right there. It was her. She was the one. He had never seen anything like it, the grace in her limbs as she twirled across the wooden floor, blue eyes sparkling in his direction. She was otherworldly.
Needless to say, Tam was no fool. He wouldn't let the opportunity to woo her just walk out the door. He courted her enthusiastically throughout the night, dancing with her, telling her everything he thought she might want to hear. She had to be his. She seemed just as enthused as he was, and made no attempts to resist when he invited her to join him alone for the rest of the evening. He knew the perfect place. The farm he worked at would be deserted and quiet at this time of night, the perfect private place to work his magic on this beauty. They drank and laughed, falling into hay bales in the barn in a drunken fit of giggles. It was then that he had made his move and kissed her. She hadn't stopped him. In fact, she began to remove his shirt, encouraging him to do the same with her dress, until the next thins he knew, they were rolling around naked in the hay, having more fun than Tam could have ever wished for. Even as she sunk her fangs into the flesh at his neck, he still wasn't aware of her true nature.
He blacked out after a minute of confusion, and it was days before he awoke. Still in the barn, he was buried deep in loose hay, she had obviously placed him there to keep him hidden, and the farmer or his wife had blatantly not ventured his way recently. His clothes were gone, too, and it was bleary eyed and spinning that he stumbled into the farm kitchen and ran through the house to the bedroom, raiding the farmer's clothing and managing to find himself a pair of old pants and an odd shirt, and some rumbled old boots that didn't quite fit. His senses were in overdrive, and the hunger that roiled within him was incredible. But, it wasn't hunger for food....
Fleeing the farm and his home, he walked for days, confused and dazd, completely unsure of what the hell was happening to him, he just knew it wasn't good. It was three days later that a stray cat crossed his path, and the thrumming of it's heartbeat deafened him, and he realized that the delightful smell drifting his way was coming from the creature. Without thinking, he snatched the cat before it could run, and didn't even blink as his fangs extended, singing into the animals flesh as the blood drained from it, into his body. The feeling was amazing, and it was then that memories from that night with the girl came flooding back. He knew what he was now.
It took him months to adjust, and he tried his hardest to live a normal life, eventually going back home and making up an excuse about visiting friends in the North, as a reason for his recent absence. His family were non the wiser to his condition, but Tam was getting stronger by the day. He managed to pull of his regular life without too much trouble, quitting at the farm and getting a night job at a bar, so he could sleep and shelter in the day. Eight long years passed, with Tam living a lie, but his brothers weren't to be fooled any longer. He wasn't ageing, and Ace and Milo were no idiots. Confronting him, they gave him no choice. His instinct, as it had with other suspicious people before them - told him to kill them. But they were his brothers, and he still loved them dearly. This being the case, he had no other option.... Locking them in his home, that fateful night, he changed them both together, Ace aged 25, and Milo an even younger 23.
The brothers dealt with what he had done to them differently, and for a while they lived together, travelling around the country as the two youngest Bellamy brothers found their feet. But Tam.... Well, Tam got but by the travelling bug. He was going to live forever. They all were. And there was a hug world out there, waiting to be explored. After settling for ten years, the brothers parted ways, and Tam set out on his adventures, travelling all over Europe, and eventually settling in Australia for a while, when he became fed up of the unsettled lifestyle. He found it quite amusing for a vampire to reside in a country renowned for being so sunny, and the irony suited him greatly. It was here he learned to draw, perfecting the art as he stayed in the country for thirty years.
He reunited with his brothers every so often on their travels, more specifically in the early 1900's, when he decided to see what the fuss with America was. His accent now a mix of British and Australian, he soon developed an odd American twang after spending fifty years moving from state to state, living life to the full, and embracing his vampiric nature. He found that after living so long, he didn't see the point in respecting human life any more. All he had to do, it seemed, was blink, and a human life was over. So fleeting was their time on Earth, it was hardly worth fussing about, really. He knew he had become a monster, killing on a whim and feeling nothing for it, but he was enjoying his new life, and saw no reason to stop.
A century passed quite quickly, and Tam had wandered back to his native England. The year 2000 had come and gone when he met the man that would change his life. A fellow by the name of Lucien D'eath approached him at a bar, informing Tam that he knew what he was, and he wanted to help him. Lucien claimed to be a wizard, and said he had been watching Tam for a while now. Well, that was ludicrous, Tam would have sensed it immediately if someone were keeping tabs on him. But this man, he seemed genuine, and had seemingly found a way to get around Tam's senses. He later found out that it was an invisibility cloak, and after hearing much about magic and the wizarding world, he feld drawn to the man. Over the years, whispers and tales of magic and magical schools had reached Tam, many times, and it had struck a nerve with him. As a boy, strange things had happened more than a few times, but his mother had put it down to coincidence, even when he'd made his pillow explode without touching it, she had made up some ridiculous excuse for it.
Now it all made sense. Lucien explained that it was likely Tam was what they called a Muggleborn wizard, and that if he came to stay with him and his wife, he would be able to learn magic, making him even more powerful. Well, obviously, the notion of being even stronger than he already was was enough to have Tam signing on the dotted line, and he quickly discovered that Lucien and Elizabeth D'eath were sort of vampire enthusiasts. They wanted to 'adopt him', and have him enrolled into Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The idea seemed outrageous. Adopt him? He was hundreds of years older than them! But it seemed they had done it before, and Tam was introduced to other vampires, who were attending the magical school under the guise of being part of the D'eath family. It seemed, if he agreed, he would have quite a few 'adoptive siblings'.
He decided he wouldn't allow himself to miss out on the opportunity to learn, and so agreed, rejecting their offer to perform a spell on him to make him appear younger. It would be difficult to try and blend in from first year, parading as an eleven year old, but Tam was determined that his vampiric abilities would be sufficient enough. A vampire his age was capable of very strong glamours. So he glamoured himself to appear as a child, and started at the school with the special permission of the Headmistress, under the name 'D'eath'. Sorted into Ravenclaw for his intelligence, he soon made a name for himself as someone not to be messed with, and worked his way through every textbook and every scrap of knowledge he could find in the castle. Now, he is much more comfortable, as a sixth year, able to act more himself, and closer to his own age, and Tam is very interested in this new wizarding war that looms on the horizon. Siding with the Shadows, he intends to boost the side of the Dark Avengers as much as possible, thinking the whole idea of it incredibly fun. Who doesn't love a good war, when you're going to live forever anyway?
