Dax owns a handsome 14 1/4 inch long, alder wood wand with a glossy onyx finish. The core is that of a long dire wolf fang, making it an incredibly aggressive, stubborn wand to brandish. Only one with an equally stubborn streak would have any hope of wielding such a wand. It has a polished silver handle with notches in just the right place for a good grip, and at the end is a great wolf's head thrown back in a howl. An intricately carved design can be seen in the dark wooden body of the wand. It is that of a wolf pack running through a thick forest. It had once belonged to Daxtamius' grandfather, Gormriald Mazaryth, who told Dax of the great and powerful magic it had brought to him over the years. He mentioned an especially strong connection with destructive enchantments and curses, but only if one could master the power to counteract the damages that they had caused. Shortly before his passing, Gormriald had given his wand to Daxtamius, the eldest of his grandchildren, with a promise that the wand would be well cared for and passed down through the generations, as it had done for centuries.

Daxtamius has the same dark, brooding look about him that his father, Ryanthon, has. His dark brown locks of short curly hair has a habit of falling across his forehead in the most inconvenient moments, forcing him to shove it out of his way rather frequently. Beneath nicely shaped eyebrows, Dax has attractive almond shaped eyes that are surrounded by thick black lashes. His eyes are a rich chocolate brown that seem to brighten mischievously whenever he is in good spirits. At the center of his face is a long straight nose, just broad enough to set off the well-chiseled angles of his cheeks bones, jawline, and squared chin. Full, slightly pouty, kissable lips are the finishing touch to his handsome face.

If you were to see Dax roaming around the corridors of Hogwarts, you might be inclined to assume that he is nothing more than an arrogant pretty boy, carrying himself with far too much confidence. You know the sort, the kind who grew up as the heartthrob of young girls everywhere. But that wasn't always the case. It took years of hard work and dedication to earn his muscular physique. He works out daily in order to keep himself toned and trim due to years of being the tail end of horrid taunting, because of his small stature as a kid. Once he hit his grown spurt at thirteen, he changed himself for the better.

He is six foot, two inches tall, making him tower over most of his fifth year classmates, but Dax doesn't mind. To him it is better to be tall than to be picked on for being the shortest guy in the crowd. Dax weighs in at thirteen stone, three and a half pounds, making him a bit heavy to play quidditch. However he loves flying, and he is good at playing the position of Keeper whenever he gets the chance.

Dax has a typical teenaged boy's fashion sense. His clothing philosophy is if the clothes are comfortable, he will wear them. He's most comfortable in jeans and a t-shirt with a comfortable pair of trainers. On warm days, Dax prefers to go shirtless whenever he can get away with it. Most often, he'll spend any downtime outside in the sunshine soaking up the sun.

- First, and foremost in his mind, would be his family. He is very close with each of his family members, though he tends to have a soft spot for his siblings especially.

- He is especially fond of muggle movies! It doesn't matter what sort it is, if it's a muggle film he is transfixed by it from beginning to finish. His favorite genres would probably be horror and comedy.

- He, of course, likes girls. Starting out as the scrawny little guy he was as a boy, he didn't have many friends that were girls. Now that he's a little more attractive, he can't get enough of the ladies.

- Another passion is his library. Ever since he was a small child, old enough to read, he has collected books. All of them have been stored in his own personal library, just off of his bedchamber.

- Being athletic is another thing Dax cannot live without. Not only does he jog eight miles every morning, each evening he spends two hours working on his muscle toning. Never again does he want to be known as the wimpy little boy of his youth. What's more is that he actually enjoys it.

- Peppermint flavored coffee is one of his biggest weaknesses. If he could manage it, he would drink it constantly throughout the day. Nothing is more soothing to him than sitting by the fire with a good book and a cup of peppermint coffee.

- Listening to and/or playing music. Though he doesn't have a lot of skill musically, he can play the piano rather beautifully due to the lessons that his father insisted upon. He is also teaching himself how to play the guitar that his mother, Ananbrielle, gave him for his fifteenth birthday.

- As odd as it might seem, Daxton loves the rainy weather. One of his favorite things is snuggling with somebody and listening to a thunderstorm raging outside. He had spent many afternoons doing that with his ex-girlfriend, Glitstara, but since their split at the beginning of his fifth year, he hasn't really had the chance.

- Dax has found that he has a passion for both flying and playing quidditch with his classmates. There is nothing more freeing than being on a broom, all alone way up in the sky, feeling the wind against your face.

- He is an animal lover. There isn't a single living creature that he hasn't tried to bring home to his mum and dad. He's had many animals over the years, but at the moment he only has his Dire Wolf pup, Rafe, and his Greater Sooty owl, Asher.

- One thing that really irks him is bullying. Because of his past, there is a special hatred in his heart for people who think that it's alright to make fun of or push other people around. It's an odd thing for a Slytherin to dislike bullying, but there you have it. Dax hates it.

- He cannot stand it when people chew with their mouths open. Whether it's bubble gum or food, it really pisses him off when people do it. Perhaps he is bothered by it because he was raised with manners as a child. Maybe he hates it because it puts him off of his own food. Either way, don't do it around him.

- Dax can't stand ridiculously long essays that are often times given on the worst possible subjects. Don't misunderstand him. He quite enjoys learning new things and studying has been one of his favorite past times. But seriously, there are only so many things you can write down about a boil cure potion.

- People who cheat. Regardless of what that person is cheating on, whether it is their boyfriend/girlfriend or a test, Dax hates it. Cheating is something that people do for two reasons. One, they have no respect for other human beings. And two, they aren't intelligent enough to fight their way out of a wet paper bag.

- People who lie to him. This falls under the same category as cheating. It isn't something that an intelligent person would do, because they would consider the consequences first. Any decent human being would find another way to handle a situation that doesn't involve lying.

- Ditsy behavior of any sorts and/or overly happy people. Though Dax is a relatively good person, there is more than one reason for why he was sorted into Slytherin. The biggest might be the fact that Slytherin was his dad's house when he was a boy and Dax wanted to be just like him. But there are other reasons. Dax might not cheat, steal, or lie, but he's not an angel either. One thing that really gets him angry is people who pretend to be ditsy on purpose. Another is when people pretend to be happy, constantly. He would have no qualms with telling somebody like that to just wise themselves up, sharp like.

- He dislikes people who only do things because they think it makes them look cool. Drugs, cigarettes, drinking, and dumb stunts will not put you in Daxton's good graces. He believes that a person should be themselves because that is who they are meant to be.

- Dealing with muggle-born witches and wizards. Growing up in a magical family meant that he was exposed to magic very early on in life. So, it really irritates him when people from muggle-born families come to Hogwarts. They are always completely baffled by everything that happens around them. What good is a witch or wizard that doesn't know one end of their wand from the other? That isn't to say that muggle-borns are all bad...just most of them that he's met.

- The arrogance of most Gryffindors. It is true that Dax can be an arrogant ass, but he dislikes the sickening arrogance that most Gryffindors have. Sure they've won the house and quidditch cup loads of times, doesn't mean they have to walk around with their big heads getting into everybody's way.

- He most definitely dislikes anybody touching any of his things....ever! It might be because he has younger siblings that get into his stuff, or the fact that he can be quite greedy, either way he doesn't like people touching his stuff.

- Fighting. Though he would retaliate, Dax isn't the sort of person that would cause a fight. He thinks that people who go around picking fights are annoying, which puts him in a bad positing being a Slytherin.

- Brown-nosing little gits. He can't stand it when people feel that it is necessary to have their noses crammed right up the professor's, or anybody else's, arse. He's annoyed by anybody who feels the need to impress other people.

- One of his life goals has been met. He wanted to get himself into shape and keep up with his routine. So far, he's accomplished this.

- Another goal he has set for himself, though it might be odd for somebody of his age, is to find a girl that he's compatible with that he can look towards the future with. His last girlfriend has been perfect for him, but she had changed in the end, turning into somebody that he could barely recognize.

- His goal for a career is to get a wizarding degree in magical creature studies so that he can open his own bestiary. He's always had a passion for working with animals.

- He wants to graduate from Hogwarts as top of his class. Education has always been important to him, though he hides just how important it is from his fellow students.

- Daxton wants to try out for the quidditch team. He knows that the Slytherins are in need of a keeper and he thinks that he might just be perfect for the job.

- Winning the quidditch cup for Slytherin house so that Slytherin can rub it into the especially big headed Gryffindor's noses.

- Winning the house cup for the same reason.

- The smell of wet pavement just after the first rainfall is one of his favorites. It reminds him of times when he was caught in sudden rainstorms while shopping with his mum. He would run and splash through the puddles while she carried their purchases.

- The new smell of books, fresh from the store. The scent reminds him of the many adventures he's had over the years while reading different books. A thousand lives he has lived in the pages of his beloved novels.

- Freshly cut flowers, a common scent around him home, reminds him of his mother and her love for gardening. She grows her own flowers throughout the year in their garden and in their green house. She would clip them when they were ready and place vases of the fragrant plants throughout their large home.

- The spicy scent of his father's cologne holds more than one memory for Dax. Ryanthon had used the same cologne since Dax was a baby. It's a smell that not only comforts him, but also makes him feel safe.

- The smell of dirt and cookies, as strange as that might sound, reminds him of his younger siblings. He realized, when his twin sisters were toddlers, that they often smelled faintly sweet and slightly dirty, as if they had been eating cookies while crawling around in the back garden.

- He enjoys the smell of freshly brewed coffee, especially if it has peppermint mixed in it, and would willingly live in any decent coffee shop in the United Kingdom.

Daxton has many fears, though he'd never tell you that willingly. His biggest fear is that something awful might happened to a member of his family. After losing his grandfather to a terminal illness, he was hit by the shock of mortality. He wouldn't going all "Lord Voldemort" or anything just so that he could survive forever, but he would do anything to keep his family and himself safe. Another of his equally terrorizing fears is being confined in small spaces. When he was a child, he accidentally locked himself in his toy chest and was stuck for quite some time screaming for his mum. Ana had been tidying the lower part of their home, so she hadn't heard Dax calling for her. Dax also has an unrealistic fear of zombies and sheep, especially zombie sheep, thanks to a specific British muggle film. If Dax ever came face to face with a boggart he would probably be traumatized by zombie-sheep killing his family while he was locked in the closet.

Bad memories are nasty little things that seem to well up at the worst possible moment. The worst memory for Dax was the day his grandfather died. Dax had been extremely close with Gormriald. He was only eight years old when he found out that his granddad was dying. He would never forget the day that the old man actually passed on. Daxton had been telling Gormriald about the broomstick that his dad had bought for him. The old man lay there with his hands clutching onto Dax, looking at him as if he were trying to memorize his grandson from head to toe. A faint smile passed across his face and then he was gone. With his eyes opened and his face slackened, he stared lifelessly at the boy. His grandfather's face still haunted his dreams and the memory of his passing reopened a wound that is permanently on Dax's heart.

If you said that there was somebody more proud of his patronus than Daxton, he wouldn't believe it for a moment. Upon learning the proper use of the spell, he found that his partronus is that of a large wolf. The most pleasant memory that he uses to call upon is actually a photograph of his family. His uncle took the picture of his entire family just after his little brother was born. All of their smiling faces remind him of a love that bonds them together tighter than anything a person could imagine. His little brother was the final addition to their family, making it a complete circle of trust and love. He has only to think of his siblings and his heart warms.

overall personality

A general depiction of Daxtamius Mazaryth is that he is a very charismatic and outgoing teenaged boy for the most part. If it is at all possible, he likes to have a lighthearted good time. Some of his best memories are with friends, winding each other up. Sarcasm, joking, and flirting are three things that should definitely be suspected at any given time. Unless there is something weighing him down, he will typically be in a good mood. He is also very compassionate person when it comes to children and animals. As strange as it might seem, he is actually a very thoughtful and caring person.

Whenever things get to be a bit much, he recoils within himself in order to rifle through his innermost thoughts. Though he might not seem like it, Dax is a rather deep person that is highly affected by things happening around him. He hates being over sensitive, but he can be pretty emotions under the right circumstances. He most definitely would not cry in front of somebody. Dax would save that for a time when he was alone. Anger, hatred, irritation, or malevolence would be more along the lines of emotions he would willingly share. If he's in a bad mood you had better hope that you're good at calming people down. Otherwise, you should just stay the hell away.

Dax is a confident person when it comes to most things. It hadn't always been that way, but he definitely doesn't let anybody knock him down. There are a few things that he isn't very secure with sharing. He is pretty intelligent and quite ambitions. His studies are very important to him and he strives to get good marks. The boy wouldn't want anybody to find out just how important his studies are to him. Another thing he hides is the fact that he loves books. His family would tend to call him a bookworm. Whenever his friends can't find him, he's typically hold up somewhere with a good book.

Rafe is a year old dire wolf that Dax found, abandoned, near his countryside home. He took the starving pup home and they've been inseparable since. Rafe is especially playful, racing around the house in search of a bit of rough and tumble. He has a deep trust of Dax and you will rarely see Dax without seeing his furry black shadow, Rafe, following closely behind.

Asher, or Ash, is a five year old greater sooty owl. He was given to Dax as a Christmas present in his third year. Asher is a sweet owl who enjoys being close to Dax whenever possible.

The history of Dax's family is a very long, very in-depth story. It's the sort of story that would take far too long to explain to anybody. So, this would be the shortest version that Dax could explain to anyone that asks.



Ryanthon grew up not knowing who his father was. His mother Estellina spent most of his childhood telling him that she didn't remember his father's name. It was only when he was a teenager that she told him the real story. Estellina hadn't known that Gormriald was married when she fell pregnant with Ryanthon. As soon as she discovered that he had a wife a two children at home, Estellina left Gormriald and never told him that she was expecting their love child. Ryanthon grew distant from his deceiving mother. In his loneliness he decided to search for his father. Gormriald was amazed that Ryanthon even existed. He took his son into his home with his half-brothers, his wife long dead, and raised the three boys until they were able to dive head first into their adult lives.



Ananbrielle had a very different story. She came from a long line of pureblood witches and wizards. Ana's mother is a lovely woman named Taralise Everlend and her father is a charming man named Mauricius Everlend. They were childhood sweethearts that got married just after leaving school. Just before Ana got pregnant with Dax, her parents relocated permanently to Hawaii. Their grandchildren have only seen them once a year since they were born, but the elderly couple adores them. Daz, Maddie, and Maggie really enjoy their visits and the neat trinkets that they always bring.



Ry and Ana met at Hogwarts where they soon fell in love. After leaving school they eloped. Gormriald and the Everlend's didn't agree with the young couple running off and getting married, but it didn't take long to see that they were a match made in heaven. Ana wound up pregnant immediately, but the pregnancy ended in a miscarriage. A few months down the line and Ana was pregnant again, this time with Dax. Born three months early and severely underweight, Dax was destined to be a scrawny pipsqueak his entire life. The Medi-Witch, who looked after Dax's health throughout his childhood, had said there was a fair chance that he would always be on the small side.



When Dax was just a little boy, he suffered the ill fate of being the smallest boy amongst other children his age. More often than not, the bigger boys teased him about how short and scrawny he was. Some of them even tormented him by saying that he must be adopted because there was no way the big, strong man he called dad could have fathered a little brat like him. Picked on and teased for most of his early years, Dax made a promise to himself. He swore that he would try to change his hard luck, no matter how difficult it might be.



Ana fell pregnant again when Dax was ten, this time with their twin girls. Dax was excited to have a sibling, but he had no what was in store. The little terrors gave him hell until they were old enough to look up to their big brother. Now he is the center of their universe and they cannot wait until he comes home on the holidays. And last, but not least, is Thane. He is the newest and last addition to the Mazaryth family and he was completely unplanned. At just six month old he shows signs of being every bit the troublemaker that the twins were. Dax doesn't mind though, he adores all of his siblings and often looks forward to spending time with them.
