Add the glasses and the scar and James is quite the spitting image of his father, Harry Potter. He has dark brown hair that has a twinge of red in the strands. A trait he probably picked up from his mother, Ginny Potter, though his father's traits seem to have won his genetic make-up over. His eyes mirror his mother's, a bright brown, hopeful color. Some would call him average, but to his parents, he was one handsome young lad.

overall personality[/i]
James, like his father, wasn't afraid to do what he believed in. He's strong-willed and stubborn. Once he has his mind set on something, he can't be talked out of it, except of course by a family member or a friend, but even then, such a feat is iffy. He's popular among his house as well as others, generally because he's an accepting wizard. But if someone attempts to hurt him, his family, or his friends, there'll be hell to pay.
The 7th year is in love with Quidditch and to him it serves as both a fun sport to partake in and a stress reliever for when things get rough. When he puts on those Seeker goggles, it's only him, his team, and the Quidditch field. He doesn't take well to losing though, but he'd never publicly show it. It wouldn't look good on the Potter record.
The only thing James didn't like about Hogwarts was the amount of homework he received. Who knew learning to be the perfect wizard was so much hard work? This being said, he still did his best with the subjects he was taking and some courses were easier than others, such as Defense Against The Dark Arts. He loved learning the various type of things learned in that class, he just didn't like writing about it.
And like a normal guy his age, his personality wouldn't be complete without the raging male hormones. The fact that he locks up around the opposite sex doesn't help matters any. Then again, since he's so popular, he never has to make the first move and is saved from having to make an idiot of himself to get a girl's attention.

history[/i]
Born as a Potter, James was meant for greatness. That greatness however, would come with a price. But until then, he'd have the time of his life. Though he was usually out and about, he always made time for family, his siblings as well as his parents. It was a picture perfect family.
Then came the time he turned 11 and had been sent an invitation to Hogwarts, the school his mom and dad had went to. He was excited, but felt bad for Albus. He had been a year younger and he could imagine his jealousy over the matter. James gave him a hug and with a smile, said he'd see him in a year. This statement seemed to comfort Albus and he was happy he could reassure his brother somewhat. As for Lily, she handled it like a trooper, and she was only 8! Mature for her age, he thought.
Months later, school was just around the corner and his father, Harry, took him shopping in Diagon Alley. They had gotten most of the supplies and even a pet cat, which James would later name Triss. The last stop was Ollivander's Wand Shop and the two Potter's stood side by side looking into the window.
"They say the wand chooses the wizard," his father said, looking down at him. "I know it did me."
James wasn't sure what his dad meant, but he trusted him with all his heart and knew his words held truth to them. Then the two walked inside and thus began James Potter's life as a wizard.
Life at Hogwarts seemed to be a dream come true for him, a place to learn magic and make friends, and play a cool sport like Quidditch in the process, a sport in which he, unknowingly, would become Seeker and Captain of his House's team, just like his father before him.
Homework was a hassle, but the payoff was well worth it, seeing a good grade stamped onto his handiwork.
Friends were plentiful, as he seemed to be popular amongst both witches and wizards alike.
Then came the summer after his 6th year, the summer that changed everything. His father was found murdered in their own home, a note pinned to his body by a group that called themselves: The Dark Avengers. The whole family grieved and cried, James himself swearing vengeance on the murderer.
Now is his 7th year, and he is a leader of The Phoenix's, the student form of The Insurgence. A war was coming, and James wasn't about to sit by and let it wage without him.
