lacey was never one to really enjoy the weekend trips that would occasionally be taken to hogsmeade, but she usually decided to go, anyway. most of the time it was rather pointless. she’d walk around with a group of ravenclaws and eventually split away from them and go off on her own. who cares if there was a ‘buddy system’. the other students would be fascinated by a new broom or something. that was the opposite of her interests. flying wasn’t even close to her favorite thing to do, so why should she care about the latest broom?

the ravenclaw wrapped her dark robes more tightly around herself, the crisp autumn air rather chilly. plodding down the street, she took a random turn into honeydukes to rid herself of the cold. granted, she loved cooler weather as opposed to warmer, but right now she just wasn’t in the mood. besides, what was so bad about getting a bit of candy? no harm in that.

lacey trudged through the shop, squeezing by other people as she went. damn, this place always seemed to be really busy. she wasn’t one to like crowded spaces or lots of people, so this was taking some getting used to. her mind was elsewhere, anyway, back on her studies. she could’ve spent today doing some reading, instead. she had to get ready for her OWL’s.

with a sigh, the brunette stopped in front of a display of chocolates. chocolate wands, cauldrons, skeletons, frogs. it seemed they had everything made out of chocolate these days. she usually settled for a couple chocolate frogs and some cauldron cakes. and you could never go wrong with some chocoballs.

Jasper found himself spending more and more time in Hogsmeade. He was becoming a bit of a stalker if truth be told. He was spending his weekends at the Hog's Head in hopes that there would be a Hogsmeade weekend and this weekend he was lucky. Students filled the village and Jasper booked himself a room at the Three Broomsticks. Should he bump into Amelia, he didn't want her to think he was staying at the Hog's Head. Though it was cheaper and dirtier he really didn't care, he just needed somewhere to sleep, cold or hot, didn't bother him, he'd slept in worse during his time overseas.

Jasper had decided to get a little gift for Amelia. He wanted to surprise her with chocolates and jewellery. He had gotten her a beautiful necklace and he would give it her soon, or he would have someone leave it in her office for her. He'd held into it for a while now and he didn't know why. There was nothing deceptive about it. It was just a pearl necklace. Amelia was the sort that was sophisticated and refined and she deserved to be treated like a Queen and Jasper would have treated her as such, however her one true follower - him, had been thrown out in the cold on his heart and it had shattered. There was no fixing it but like in most situations, when a monarch displeased the peasants, there would be an uproar a turning over of the Monarchy and people would be hurt, namely Amelia and her family but not for a while yet. Still he held onto it for reasons he wasn't quite sure of. He wanted her to have it but a part of him wanted to see her face when she opened it, to see her happiness and that was what was stopping him. He couldn't het sentimental now, she had to die. After he ruined her life.

Making his way into the exceedingly crowded Honeydukes he pushed his way past the children, kicking in a few of the ankles he passed. He disliked children. He disliked people. He had not options but to deal with it. The sight of a familiar head caught Jasper's attention and for a brief moment he wanted to flee but this could be a good reason for him to be in Hogsmeade this weekend. He could claim he was visiting his sister that he hadn't seen in over six years. She's been nine the last time he saw her face to face. They were almost strangers now but family was family and he wondered how much she believed that.

Coming up behind Lacey he had to remove a couple of students. He reached past her to grab a chocolate frog for himself. Honeydukes had always been the worst, even when he was in school the students jus flocked the old store. Students had sweet teeth that just rotted when not taken care of properly. He'd seen it happen to a few of the boys in his dorm, but they had been particularly moronic. Still, here he was now with his darling little sister, Lacey. He wondered how much had happened in the family while he'd been gone and judging by her robes, she'd been made a Ravenclaw. A rather respectable house. He'd always thought Lacey would turn out to be a smart cookie, a lot like himself, only he'd taken a few wrong turns in his life thanks to Amelia. "Hello darling sister. Miss me?" He said, looking down at her, a smug smile on his face.

lacey noticed a hand reach out from behind her and snag a chocolate frog. some of these kids were just so rude. did they not see her, clearly standing there? they could have at least asked her to move or something. maybe said ‘excuse me’. where were these people’s manners? oh, who was she kidding. she would have done the same thing as them. she didn’t care much for manners anymore. if someone was in her way, she was going to move them whether they liked it or not.

she still felt the person’s presence, now beside her, which she decided to ignore as she selected some of her own chocolate frogs. she wasn’t in the mood for cursing someone in the middle of honeydukes just for pissing her off. there were teachers about, and she wasn’t looking to get into any trouble. upon hearing the man talk, though, lacey finally turned her head to get a look at him. it took only a couple seconds for the face and voice to trigger recognition within her, and she felt her heart skip a beat.

within a span of five seconds, she probably experienced every emotion in existence, all jumbled inside of her. she knew who he was. there was no questioning it. but why here? why now? she hadn’t seen him in so long, yet she still recognized him. she was filled with the urge to hug him. or maybe hex him, she couldn’t tell. this mixture of feelings was too much for her to handle. she had to control herself. she didn’t want people thinking she had emotions or anything, so she couldn’t show them in public.

”japser.” she stated simply as she tried to compose herself. her love for her family was a strong one, but her irritation toward her eldest brother for practically falling off the earth six years ago nearly overpowered that. she was upset with him, to say the least. at least she didn’t have lifelong fear-of-abandonment issues because of it, ”how could i miss someone i barely even know,” she growled in irritation with a roll of her eyes. she had so much to ask him, though, because she really did care for him and wanted to know what in the hell he had been doing all those years.

Jasper could not help that he had not been around for a large portion of his sisters life. There was a large age gap between them and she spent her youth with her older brothers at Hogwarts. Truth was Jasper wasn't entirely exactly sure how old she was or when her birthday was so he figured now that he'd shown himself to Lacey, it might be time to make an effort to see the rest of the family. She was either fourteen going on fifteen, or fifteen going on sixteen. His mother would be able to set him straight. He only knew his brother's birthday and that was only because they were closer together in age, he wouldn't be able to remember his birthday if asked, Jasper didn't worry about birthdays, definitely time to drop mum a visit. His mother might be pleased to see him he supposed. His father on the other hand was just an idiot so Jasper didn't really know nor care what he might think.

"Come now Lacey, family is family. Maybe once you graduate you might take off on an around the world adventure for a few years." Well he hadn't exactly gone 'around the world' more as tried to drop off it. He'd spent a lot of his time in Eastern Europe more than anywhere and a lot of that time was alone. It had been hard at first but eventually the silence was beauty. Just him and his thoughts. He made sense sometimes and sometimes he did not. Sometimes what seemed like nonsense actually made sense and what made sense in reality actually didn't. Jasper found out a lot about himself and what he actually believed in. Family was not something that was a high priority just yet. Making Amelia's life hell, was.

"Now help me out. I want to buy a fine woman of good taste some chocolates. What would you recommend?" He asked his youngest sister as he peered at the shelves in front of them and was knocked by a student but he just ignored it for now. He wasn't entirely sure what his sister was like but it would be good to get to know her again. After all he had invested time in her when they were both younger. He had put in the effort to help look after her when he was home on holidays, play with her, change her nappies. In some twisted way Jasper felt she owed him.
