Back to the classroom and first lesson of the year. Auburn was looking forward to a fresh new school year and spreading knowledge of the muggle world. So much was unknown about them by the majority of pure blooded and half blooded families that it was a bit of a shame but Aubby was there to teach them all sorts of things, from technology to money to a little bit of their history and how muggles managed without magic. Though it wasn't just muggles that lived this way, Squibs and people that married muggles also adapted to the muggle way of life.
Auburn had a little treat set up for her students this year. She liked to keep things interesting in class because other wise she risked losing the students interests and pets were sure to keep things cute and interesting, though the pets wouldn't be arriving until near the end of the lesson, or at least the big pets. On a perch to the left of her desk was a magnificent scarlet macaw. He squawked, flapped his deaths loudly, the beating of his wings sending out a light breeze that ruffled the parchment on Aubby's desk. The macaw slid his head in under his wing for a nap and Auburn looked around her classroom. She'd hung pictures on the walls, dogs, cats, rabbits, gerbils, hamsters, guinea pigs, chickens, pigs, cows, giraffes, tigers, lions and almost every muggle known creature imaginable. Aub had covered her walls with pictures of animals. Across her desk she had a range of feathers and in the corer of her room, covered with a cloth, was an aviary of budgies. She wanted her students to realise that not all muggle life was as dull as most thought.
Her class came in and took their seats and Auburn was eager to start this lesson. Welcome back, students. It's beautiful to see you all here. Today's lesson is all about animals in the muggle world. Now unlike wizards and witches, muggles keep a wide variation of pets but none magical unless by accident. Some more popular than others" She pointed to pictures of cat and dog on the wall. "Usually animals are kept for companionship among the muggle world but they're also farmed and kept in Zoo's, much like our own magical zoos." Auburn smiled, "Who can tell me what kind of animals are kept as pets in the muggle world and what animals one might find at a muggle zoo?" Auburn wanted to see how many of her students had done a bit of reading over the holidays. It wasn't exactly a difficult question to those who knew, but if you had no idea about the muggle world then it was certainly going to help to read the literature about the subject.
