A ball of sweat dripped down Daisy's face. She was panting hard but would not stop, she would not give up. She swung the sword her her head and it came down with a strong force. It pulled her slightly and she knew she'd let herself be taken over. Angrily she threw the sword into the corner of the room, her dummy target stopped moving and went limp. She kicked it in anger at her own failures. She hated to fail. She taught herself how to fight with a sword, practicing for hours at a time, it was rare that Daisy felt emotions but when she did she didn't know how to handle them properly and with anger she lashed out.

She looked at the clock on the wall of the room of requirements. She'd been here for three hours and it was past curfew. She needed to head back to her common room and it was quite a trek. She thought about turning the room of requirements into a bedroom for the night but she had a problem, she needed to shower and she didn't fancy using the room of requirements to bathe in. She still had her bits to gather together as well so before she could leave she started putting things back where they belonged. She hung the sword back up on the wall alongside a few other makes before she grabbed her sweat towel and wiped her forehead.

There was a small table, next to where she'd placed her bag down. Upon the small, round table was a jug of water and a clean glass with ice in it. Daisy poured the water over the ice in the glass and took a few huge gulps before placing the glass down, she'd drunk everything in the glass and so poured herself another and took just a single mouthful. She placed the glass back down on the shiny surface of the table. Walking over to the wall again she grabbed her cloak down. She walked back to her bag and figured it was time to get going but as she thought that the door to the room of requirements started to open and she stood there, watching, wondering who would be next to use the room or if it was prefects looking for students out of bed.

ah, the room of requirement. it happened to be a popular spot that lysander enjoyed going to after hours. yes, terrible, terrible, breaking rules and whatnot. but it didn’t bother him one bit. it was fun. and if you were lucky, like ly normally was, you wouldn’t get caught. but first, you had to know how to find the room. the hufflepuff knew the room wasn’t much of a secret anymore. he would hear whispers about it often and usually noticed someone slipping out of it. most days he wished he was the only one who knew about it, though, or at least knew how to get in. it was fun to have his own little secret. unfortunately, that wasn’t the case.

it had come to his attention over the past couple years that he wasn’t the only student who enjoyed spending their nights hiding out in the room of requirement. this is precisely why he walked by the room not thinking of something he wanted, but of the knowledge that someone was in there. it didn’t always work because there wasn’t someone in there every time. but this seemed to be one of those nights where he’d have a run in with another rule-breaking student.

he stepped quickly into the room, immediately noticing a rather sweaty and exhausted figure, though he couldn’t tell who they were immediately, ”my my, out after hours. that’ll be five points from slytherclawffledor,” he stated, pretending as if he actually had some sort of authority. ha, as if. he didn’t know which house the girl was from, but he recognized her. he was never good at remembering names or houses, though, so there was no surprise there. he placed his hands on his hips as if she might actually fall for his act, so he wanted to keep it realistic as he stared her down.

Daisy was never really surprised when people didn't recognise her, not even people in her own year. She kept to her small group of 'friends' usually and had little to do with outsiders unless they approached her. However she knew everyone in her year, and the year below her and she knew most of the other students faces and names too. She was a people watcher, she observed people and their behaviours and if needed she knew how to upset people with ease. She'd always figured Lysander's easy target would be his twin. Twins apparently had a connection deeper than most siblings, Daisy wouldn't know, she'd killed her younger brother.

"Lysander." Daisy could have laughed in such a mocking tone but she chose to control herself, be friendly, she could get into a whole world of trouble if Lysander mentioned to pretty much anyone that he caught Daisy in a room with a bunch of swords. So instead of laughing she lowered her head with a smile and a soft chuckle. "Hey. Uh, Slytherin. I'm the same year as you." Daisy looked back up at Lysander, smiling. "I'm Daisy Favre." She said, wondering if her name would ring any sort of bell with the blonde Hufflepuff, not that she minded if he didn't remember her, the less she was remembered probably the better. Usually not a whole lot of people knew how to pronounce her surname. It was a French one and many that had not learnt the so called 'language of love' chose to use 'fahv-reh' or 'fahv-er' all though it was a simple 'fahv' and almost a soft 'r' noise at the end which was why she preferred to introduce herself with her surname too, many would just get it plain wrong other wise. People also held the misconception that it was 'farv' and that irritated her more than the other.

"You're out and about late. Up to anything in particular?" Daisy said as she walked towards him just a little, everything now in hand, ready for her to make her leave. She had decided it was best to make small talk with her fellow classmate of a few subjects, maybe see if she could get Lysander out of the room of requirements so it could reset itself and maybe he could then use it for whatever he wanted and she could head back to her common room. Hopefully Lysander just wouldn't notice what was going on in the room, she hoped his attention wouldn't stretch that far.

"sure i'm not lorcan?" he tested the slytherin with a raised brow. well, he should have expected her to know his name. he was one of two identical kids running about, and they were in the same year. he was impressed she had his name right on the first try, though. then again, him and his brother were noticeably different if you peered at their personalities hard enough. ly just had more swag. or maybe it was his hufflepuff robes that were the dead giveaway. if only his brother was willing to switch places for a day, then he could have a lot of fun with his final year at hogwarts. that would take quite a bit more convincing, though.

"daisy, rose, tulip.. why do people insist on naming their offspring after flowers?" he voiced aloud as he stepped further into the room of requirement and began scanning the area, "fascinating," he murmured, noticing the weapons. now he was just being nosy. but he loved finding out what other people spent their time doing in this room. people in general just fascinated him, "i'm terrible with names, sorry," he added, turning to look in her direction again, realizing he really didn't know the girl that well. well, she was pretty enough to stick a name to her now and keep it there. she kind of looked like a flower. it was fitting, "and i never pay attention to anything.. ever. don't take it personally."

he could tell the slytherin wanted to leave, and she had clearly been in here in a while, working up a sweat, doing who-knows-what, "oh, yes. i'm up to many things," he replied shortly as he paced near a small collection of swords. of course, that wasn't really an answer, but he enjoyed irritating people by being a little cryptic, "though i see you've been practicing some leisurely throat-slitting or something," he observed, though jokingly, "trying out for the knights of the round table?" he chuckled, though he should have been a tad bit more alarmed. he was surrounded by a bunch of swords, after all, and a woman who was clearly capable of using one. but she seemed nice enough.

Daisy laughed at Lysander's comment. Being a people person she could distinguish between the two. They may have looked identical but the way they carried themselves was a little different and not to mention the Hufflepuff robes were a dead give away. "Sorry to presume. Perhaps you are a wolf in sheep's clothing, or a Lorcan in Lysander's." To say the Scamander twins were 'quirky' was an understatement. Some people often wondered if they weren't just outright insane, but Daisy knew insane. They were not insane.

His comment of her name was not expected but she had not exactly expected something normal from a Scamander. "Perhaps people choose the names they like rather than what it is to represent. I wouldn't know, I've never named a human but I think that is what I might do, maybe a mix of both." Honestly Daisy had never really given her first name much thought, nor anyones. They were what they were. They could be changed but then what to? Some people had grounds to change their names, clearly their parents had been young and ridiculous, others were bored of what they had and some just wanted to make a mark on the world by saying they chose to be who they are but changing their names, but it was not as if changing your name made you a different person and just because your parents gave you a name it did not mean that they moulded your personality.

Lysander walked further into the room and there was no chance that he would not notice her room. It was a little different to what you might find with other students but she wasn't exactly normal. She wanted to be well trained. There was trouble brewing after all. One needed to be in top condition for battle, of all varieties. Daisy dropped her bag on the ground. She wasn't going to leave Lysander in here alone, perhaps she could try a little more practice, on the blonde, elusive Scamander.

"I wouldn't go so far as throat-slitting. That seems a little extreme, even for a Slytherin." She walked in the direction of Lysander and stopped a little behind him and to his left. "Though to be a knight of the round table would certainly be an accomplishment." She was still interested in what Lysander was doing here but it seemed he was not going to part with that information so easily. She could always stick around to find out though she wasn't all that interested.

”what if i was literally a wolf that, like, killled a human and made a skin suit? so now i’m wearing the skin suit. but i can also talk,” he rambled on as his gaze seemed to gloss over while his imagination carried him away to a place that only he could see, ”or i skinned my brother and decided to wear him as a suit today,” he added with a shrug. it may have been a morbid though, but ly didn’t even realize it. it was all jokes to him.

”hm, i guess i see what you mean. besides, i think my name is a tad bit weird, so i shouldn’t complain about others,” he added with a small laugh, ”i always thought that everyone in the world should be required to have a different name, so there were never any repeats. so then you’d be, like, daisy nine two seven eight. they’d have to use numbers to differentiate,” he rambled. oh, the silly these he could go on about. he always found the strangest topics.

lysander noticed the slytherin girl drop her bag on the ground. well, it seemed like she wasn’t intending to leave the room of requirement filled with swords and a foolish hufflepuff who was bound to injure himself. cocking his head to the side, he approached the wall of hanging swords and carefully lifted one, which happened to be the exact one daisy had been using earlier. it was a little heavier than he had anticipated, and he instantly had to grab it with both hands. he thought it would be as light as styrofoam.

he noticed daisy approaching him and turned to face her, lifting the sword up to point the tip in her direction, ”fair maiden!” he addressed her, ”i challenge you to a fight to the death!” he commanded before taking a step back and trying to twirl the sword like he had seen people do before, only to be knocked slightly off balance, stumbling to the side. he composed himself swiftly and held the object in both hands again, looking it over, ”or not.”

So lysander was quite odd. That was nothing new to Daisy and she did not mind odd. It was kind of entertaining in a way. Not to herself but to see how others interacted with the strange. Some people thought it funny, others found it 'creepy' and some seemed like the types that might want to beat the hell out of the ones that were a little different, but to Daisy everyone had a place in the world as long as she could watch, it was just that sometimes it was a persons place to die and she was okay with that.

"Such a strange notion to wear his skin seeing as the two of you are identical." Se said, thinking that it would be quite odd to wear anyones skin. You'd get all bloody. It probably wouldn't be a pleasant experience, she decided.

Daisy thought of the name Lysander and she was indifferent to it. It did nothing for her. She associated it with Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream. "Daisy nine two seven eight would probably have just gotten shortened to Daisy anyway so what's the point?" She asked, wondering if there was more of a point to his rambling about names. He did seem to like to ramble but that was okay, it meant she didn't have to talk as much as she was just fine with that.

Lysander picked up the sword she had been using not ten minutes ago and now it was pointed at her. She eyed the point of the blade and then Lysander. He had no idea how to hold a sword, let alone use it against anyone. Daisy felt no threat whatsoever so if he was trying to intimidate her, he was failing. If he was trying to be funny then he was wasting his time trying to amuse Daisy.

"If you lay down a challenge then you are obligated to see it through." She commented, walking closer to the wall and picking up a sword. It was thinner and shorter than the one Lysander held with his slender hands but it had a shaper point and longer and bigger was not always better, especially if you did not know what to do with such a weapon. "If you wish, you may retract your challenge." She said, her sword pointed to the ground as she started to walk about, starting to circle the front of him, "But if you would like to spar then perhaps armour is needed for such a fresh newcomer to the game." She thought of adding that she would not kill him and knew that he would not have a chance to kill her unless of course the fool was actually an expert in the field of swords and sword fighting, in which case she would gladly fight to the death. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
