Tersha had managed to find herself a completely empty compartment, and so far, no one had had the balls to interrupt her and ask if they could sit with her for the journey back to Hogwarts. She found it amusing that the younger ones were so wary of her. She had worked hard to put them in their place and let them know not to mess with her, but she hadn't expected it to work so well, or for word to spread. Maybe a friend or two would be along at some point to chat for a while, or even a snivelling second year she could boss about to entertain herself for a bit. She didn't have any pets, not because she couldn't afford any, or didn't like them, she just preferred to avoid the responsibility of looking after one, so she was thoroughly alone. Something she was used to in life for such a popular, powerful girl.
She had a few magazines in her bag which would pass a bit of time, and she was sure the food trolley would sell newspapers or something when it came around, though she was more interested in the food she'd be able to get. She had only had breakfast a few hours ago, but hunger was setting in already. Her appetite was always decent, but recently it had risen a tad, and she knew exactly what was to blame for it. She had been elected to be one of the new leaders of the Shadows this year, since the old ones had graduated, and the pressure she felt already was immense. The school year hadn't even started yet, but she knew she had a lot of responsibility on her shoulders. Tersha liked responsibility, it meant she had more power, which she loved, but it was still daunting to be in control of something so big. Something so dangerous, and ultimately secret.
Of course, she wouldn't be doing it alone, there would be two other leaders working with her to run the group who supported the Dark Avengers, but she had no idea who those two would be yet. She wouldn't find out until she got to school. Probably not even then. It would be their first Shadow meeting in three days time that would enlighten her, and she hoped to Merlin that the other two leaders weren't complete prats, or she she would undoubtedly be doing everything she could to overthrow them and bring 'friends' in to rule by her side. She still wasn't sure she was doing the right thing, and it felt wrong every second of every day to have chosen the side she had, but she stubbornly went along with it. She would not be part of a losing team. The Dark Avengers had proven they weren't losers the second they killed Harry Potter, and she was under no illusions that they were amateurs. Well, Tersha was no amateur, either. She would put her all into the Shadows and prove herself worthy of the new title given to her.
One leg crossed over the other, her foot tapped agitatedly as she watched the busy platform outside, wishing the train would leave already. The sooner the school year got underway, the better. And the sooner the food trolley arrived, the sooner she would stop feeling so venomous.
