Percy is a tall, thin man with thick characteristic red hair and twinkling blue eyes. As a teenager, he was often regarded as a lanky lad with very few distinguishing features from the rest of his brood other than his battered horn-rimmed glasses but these days he resembles more of a harassed looking bank manager than a man with a magical touch. He has grown a short well-cared for beard (A feat that his younger brother has yet to manage!) and wears his hair short and curly with a wizening streak of silver to accent his worry lines. Gone are the hand-me-down robes and his overly polished shoes to make way for an assortment of muggle suits and smart black and maroon robes that dominate his wardrobe. He is often seen these days wearing muggle attire due to the surprising amount of work required outside of the wizarding world but you will always find him in a set of fancy robes complete with tie whether he�s at work or simply doing a bit of shopping. His wife often jokes that his serious attitude can make anything he wears turn into work attire.
Being one of the tallest of the Weasley�s he has done remarkably well in filling out since his younger years what with his travelling and various physical pursuits involving manhandling rogue broomsticks, disarming exploding portkeys and carrying heavily splinched body parts from all over the country but he still falls miserably behind on the macho scale next to Bill. Along with his red hair he has also failed to lose his �strut� as he carries himself everywhere with a huge air of self-importance making even a trip to the bathroom seem like he�s late for an extremely important meeting with the Minister.

Percy has always been described as something of an overachiever. From an early age he has fought with dogged determination to achieve his goals even if it blinds him to the bigger picture – a fault that he has tried to curb unsuccessfully over the years. Despite his high-rise to ministry stardom he has always remained true to himself and refuses to accept hand-outs of any sort even if it puts himself at a disadvantage. The determination to do things yourself through hard work and diligence is something that he has plugged into his children since they were old enough to crawl. This being said, his attitude towards rules has become somewhat lax since his unfortunate internship many years before – allowing the occasional slip-up from the younger people who don’t know any better. Repeat offenders will be lectured mercilessly as Lucy and Molly know well.
He is very much the family man but finds it increasingly difficult to balance family life with his work commitments but argues with himself that his hard work is for the betterment of his family rather than his desire to neglect them. He writes as often as he can to his children at Hogwarts and his long-suffering wife when he is away from business. His dream is to become minister for magic however he feels that it might have a detrimental effect on his family who grow weary of his long hours as it is without the added risks involved especially now a virtually unknown person has taken up the post much to Percy’s dismay. That being said, every year around the anniversary of his brother’s death he takes a weekend away from work to take his family to the grave and to see his mother for a family meal.
On a more personal note he has learned to appreciate the little things in life such as his wife, loyalty and the ability to look beyond the superficial. With the mounting tensions at work he has been keeping an eye out for suspicious activity and is nearing paranoid that there is something amiss once more in their rank. Only once has he been able to voice his concerns to anybody other than himself and that one person was found dead in his livingroom some time after.

Percy was born second to the large Weasley brood and though his childhood was nothing short of magical, even from an early age it was painfully obvious that despite their wealthy ancestral background they were struggling to make a living from �family affection� surging the growing Weasley brother to adopt a somewhat stern outlook from an early age. As the family extended and grew into their own personalities Percy found himself vying for the attention and recognition of both his parents and peers who were constantly preoccupied with Bill�s (his older brothers) glowing reputation and the twins, who made no attempt to disguise their appalling sense of humour which was naturally inflicted upon himself for Ron was too well protected and Ginny was far too young to bear the brunt of their relationship without a ruthless scolding from their mother.
His attitude did not change as he entered Hogwarts. If anything, the idea that away from the Burrow he was able to become more than �just another Weasley� spurred him on an almost obsessive quest to better himself from the family who had managed (with difficulty) to keep both of his feet firmly on the ground. Of course, all of his hard work eventually paid off and he found himself to excel in most subjects in written and practical form � though Quidditch was always a challenge as the Twins were sure to remind him when they too joined them at the school. In his fifth year he was made Prefect much to his parents pleasure and was given his first owl as a reward which he named Hermes and in turn he passed his old rat, Scabbers, down to his younger brother Ron who was starting Hogwarts that same year.
It was around this time that a relationship between him and a young Ravenclaw by the name of Penelope Clearwater blossomed. She like him was a studious student with a fondness for authority albeit not as obsessively as Percy was. At the very least, she humoured him and kept him company when nobody else wanted to hang around with �Pinhead Percy� and the two were in constant correspondence even when out of school for the holidays. Fearing that he would be mocked mercilessly by his brothers, Percy tried to keep the fact that he had found a girlfriend a secret from the rest of the family resorting to meeting her in unused classrooms and broom cupboards in a fruitless attempt to avoid the wave of humiliation that was sure to follow this discovery. It was not the twins that found him however but his younger sister whom he then forced into secrecy. He was unaware at the time, but his interference with Ginny, Harry and Ron in the Great Hall prevented Ginny telling the boys about Tom Riddle�s diary.
You could say that the shock of almost losing Penelope (Also a Prefect) brought him down a peg of two � the reality that even if he has a little power in school does not mean that he had power over any external threats. He became introverted if anything and with his brother Ron becoming increasingly more famous alongside their family friend, Harry Potter, Percy was almost ignored in comparison when he achieved his goal of becoming Head Boy. The following year he left Hogwarts with a glowing academic recommendation to which he used to secure a place working under the Minister for Magic himself � a feat he was extremely proud of having gained access without his father having to buy his placement (Sorry, Malfoy. Serves you right for skulking around school after curfew!).
Originally he was employed for the Department of International Magical Cooperation but quickly advanced to working directly under Mr. Crouch as his personal assistant during the Triwizard tournament. Percy became, if anything, more pompous and more detached from his family during this time but remained loyal despite the constant jeers from his colleagues. It seemed that all his plans were beginning to pay off when he was promoted once more to take on some of Mr. Crouch�s official duties but came crashing down in a humiliating climax when it was discovered that he was taking orders from somebody other than Mr. Crouch who was later discovered wandering the forest in a confused state. The young Weasley was pulled up into an enquiry before the ministry and blamed for not consulting a superior when Mr. Crouch was not giving him directions personally. Luckily, they did not decide to remove him from the Ministry � instead he was employed under Cornelius Fudge as his personal assistant.
After Dumbledore�s claim that the Dark Lord had come to power, the Ministry thought it useful to have a Weasley connection that was on �their side� so Percy was unknowingly hauled in as a spy into the Weasley household. If it was the Ministry�s idea to have him cause a commotion in the Weasley family they succeeded in a big fashion with Percy renouncing his connection due to his father�s harsh words when he announced his promotion. He couldn�t believe that his family couldn�t be happy for him when he was finally getting what he wished for in life and were poisoning the idea with claims of spying and betrayal. For a long time Percy fought with his pride and his duty to the ministry and refused to speak to any of his family but eventually reconciled in the Second Wizard War when he came to fight at their side.
During the second wizarding war, Percy was the last person to speak to Fred after making a joke � Fred was so surprised that he turned to make a witty comment only to be hit full blast with an explosion that killed him. Percy refused to leave the body until Harry came to his aide and carried the twin off to somewhere safe. After this, Percy was very much humbled and vowed to get his priorities straight from that moment on � knowing Fred would have liked the �new� Percy much more than �Pinhead Percy�. Still, he believes that it was his fault that he distracted Fred and that is why he was killed.
The years passed quickly and both Percy�s career and personal life took off quicker than anybody expected. No longer was he tailing after a Minister who knew not how to utilize his skills � instead, the new Minister Kingsley Shacklebolt has him listed as a high ranking official under the new regime, often coming to him for opinions on how to better the ministry from the outside in. Eventually he settled in the Department of Magical Transportation after a particularly nasty outburst of unregistered portkeys started sprouting up all over the country. It was during this time that he met his lovely wife Audrey, a talented young witch who would later become his wife and the mother to his two daughters now attending Hogwarts.
