Hogsmeade weekends were dull. There was little that interested Benji in the small village but this weekend he needed to visit the book store. He needed something else to read, he'd exasperated his supply of books and currently the library was not worth entering with the poor excuses that ran the place. There was little that impressed Benji but a lot that irritated him.

The stroll down to the village had been too open. He wished there was a carriage that could take him down for the outdoors did not interest him in the slightest. Stuffy old rooms filled with books was where he belonged, not amongst the wind and rain. Still, Benji had been quite fortunate, the autumn weather had a sharp wind blowing strongly but it wasn't cold as such. Even though it was not exactly cold Benji was still wrapped up warm, wearing his winter robes already. Even the slightest of chills got to him.

First stop in Hogsmeade was the Scrivenshaft's. Benji needed more quills and ink and rather than asking his father to pick up some or one of his siblings, he figured while he was getting a book or five that he may as well get his other things.

Benji got himself a set of three plain but elegant quills. He didn't like anything over extravagant or colourful, people, girls mostly, had barbaric quills. Writing was an art form but it didn't need a ridiculously showy quill to do it. Bright colours just distracted from the purpose of the instrument.

Scrivenshaft's had ben busy but as he pushed open the door to Tomes and Scrolls he felt the silence wash over him. He was greeted by a friendly girl and made his way to the shelves to lose himself for a while. A half hour passed and he had no books as of yet. He read the blurbs of nearly everything he passed but nothing grabbed at his attention strings, there was little that stimulated in this shop. He needed something bigger, he needed to go to Diagon Alley but for now he would have to make do.

Ember sighed as she strolled through the crowded streets of Hogsmeade, her body on autopilot as she maneuvered through the masses and dodged person after person as they blocked the walk way. It irked the Slytherin to no end when people would just stand in large groups and block the way, not allowing for anyone to pass as they were too lazy to move off to the side. She experienced this phenomenon enough when she was in school, as the younger students had a tendency to stop in their tracks and stand still as a statue as they chatted with their friends, and she truly did not want to deal with it while she was out shopping. Sending stare after stare at the loiterers who thought themselves to be brilliant, she decided to just break free from the large crowd; when you can't get through, you might as well step off somewhere and try and wait it out. With this thought in mind, Ember walked into the first store she came upon, opening the door with a snap and walking in as quickly as she could.

For the first time in the long while that she had been out, Ember was greeted with silence and she couldn't help but let out a slight huff of relief. While the walk in to town had been quiet and peaceful, allowing the young girl to enjoy the cooling weather and the way the wind would play with the strands of fiery hair that had come loose from the bun atop her head, she found that it had not been so lovely upon her arrival to town. With the hordes of people that were out shopping today, all the younger students enjoying the nice weather and trying to get away from the confines of the castle while they could still enjoy being outside, Ember had quite the time doing the shopping that she had deemed necessary.

Before leaving the admittedly stifling walls of the magical castle, Ember had made a list of stores that she had wanted to visit to see if they had anything that she was looking for. While the items that were on her list were really of no importance and could be purchased at any time, she had wanted to get these items as quickly as possible. It was starting to get cooler out and while she had several items in her wardrobe to ward off the chill wind that would soon be picking up, she still felt she was ill prepared. In her opinion, she could never have too many articles of clothing in her collection, especially if they were cute and currently in fashion. So with this is mind, she had decided to check out the little stores in the town and see what they had to offer in the form of winter wear, preferably in the area of scarves, headbands, and hats. Unluckily for her, however, it seemed that over half of the school had decided that today was the day that they too needed to check out the selection that was available.

After arriving and fighting her way through the streets, Ember made her way from store to store, usually only stopping by for only a few moments before having to leave because the cramped spaces were filled to the brim. The young girl really had no problem with large crowds and she was not one to be claustrophobic, but the many gaggling squads of girls were getting on her nerves and she could only stand to be near them for very brief periods of time before she had to leave. It was a shame that she would have to leave every store so soon, as she really didn't even get a chance to inspect their wears to see if she even approved of anything, as she had impeccable taste and only the best would do for her.

That's why it was like a breath of fresh air that Ember found herself within the silent, nearly empty store that she had chosen at random. With a slight nod at the friendly woman that was working in the store, icy blue eyes scanned the store, only to discover that she had wound up in the tiny book shop. With a slight look of appraisal in her eyes, happy with herself and her own unconscious decision, she began to make her way up and down the shelf, hand absent-mindedly tracing the names encrypted on the spines as she looked, her mind admittedly lost in thought as she paid little attention to what she was doing, her focus still on the fact that she had been unable to get any shopping down. So lost in thought was she that she didn't notice that she was starting to get closer and closer to the only other customer in the store, her feet slowly walking her in his direction. 'Perhaps I'll send an owl to mother and ask her to send me a few pieces from her fall collection.' She thought, wondering why she hadn't just thought of that before. However, she didn't get much farther in her thoughts before she felt herself bump into something solid, the soft hit doing nothing more than to jolt her out of her mind and focus on the situation at hand.

Looking up, eyes moving away from their downcast position of observing the many books, Ember brought her eyes in too focus as she noticed the person with whom she had just collided with, a fellow seventh year from Ravenclaw. Can you say oops? "Sorry, didn't see you there." She mumbled under her breath, mustering up the best apology she could. It wasn't like she had hit him that hard anyway, so it really didn't require that much of an apology.
