Carson was just so excited she couldn't even stand it. She had finally graduated from school and while she still felt mixed emotions about leaving the place that had become her second home for all those years, she knew it was just something that she would have to get used to. She had heard story after story while growing up from her parents about how wonderful and thrilling it was to finally be of an age where she could live away from the nest and actually begin to take care of herself. While the two of them had a much different situation while adjusting to life on their own, seeing as they were both muggles and had initially meant for the time when she would go to college and have her own experiences, the general rule still applied. She was still beginning her new life, living on her own and away from everything that felt comfortable and familiar, and it just filled her with a plethora of feelings that she would only be able to combat with time. She could only hope that she would begin to adjust soon enough and fall into a schedule that would soon become familiar to her and would give her a new sense of comfort to help aid her down her new road. Getting a job as a trainee at the hospital had certainly been a start and while the hours were long and arduous, they were quickly become something stable in her unknown world and for that she was grateful. However, they were also causing somewhat of a problem with her flat mate and it was beginning to become somewhat of a hindrance.
While the young woman could honestly say that she was beginning her new life alone and without family or friends to keep her company, she couldn't exactly say that she was the only living creature in the apartment that had become her new home. Sparsely furnished and lacking decorations on more than one obscenely white wall, the tiny abode was irritatingly small, but it was what she could afford with her earnings so it was what she would have to deal with. Very few people could live comfortably within the tiny cell of home, but that didn't put a stop to Carson and her wish to have her feline companion at her side during her less than seamless transition. Right after she graduated from the magical school and against what she had originally felt at the time, she had brought her trusty companion with her to her single-room flat so that she may have some form of companionship. She had her doubts at first, wondering whether or not she would be able to care for the creature while she was still adjusting to taking care of herself, but she was happy that she had brought him along because not having him would just be strange. Having grown up around the presence of at least one cat, usually having around four feline and two dogs, the idea of not having a pet was foreign to the young woman, so she had made a great choice indeed in bringing the pure black cat along with her. However, trouble was starting to brew within the enclosed space of their home.
Everything had started out great upon moving in as the two began to adjust to their new surroundings and responsibilities, but Carson began to notice that Thorin Oakenshield was beginning to become sluggish and needy. Having always been a playful and energetic cat by nature, she of course became concerned for her little friend but there was little that could be found wrong with him physically after a trip to the doctors one afternoon. Everything was in perfect order, she had been told, and the culprit was most likely that he was stressed from the new environment. Doubtful of this, Carson began to keep a close eye on him, which wasn't hard to do with the way that he craved attention from her whenever she was home. After watching him as closely as she could for some time, she could only conclude that he was lonely, seeing as he spent a great deal of his day by himself. It was a life style that the feline was not used to and having to roam the small apartment by himself was probably too quiet of a life for him. With her mind made up, Carson decided that the best option in mind was to find him a companion, someone who he could play with while she was away at work. Sure the extra mouth would dig into her expenses and she had worried for a while on whether or not she could afford another cat, but she figured she could cut costs in other areas to help pay for it. That and it wasn't like she used up all of her money at the end of the month; she was frugal and made sure she had plenty to save, so it should hopefully be ok to get another cat. She just wanted Thor to not be lonely during the day and to be like the cat she knew.
That was how the blonde Hufflepuff alumni found herself once more within the walls of the Magical Menagerie in search of a tiny feline companion for her current roommate, blue eyes roaming as Carson walked towards the cat section of the store. With her face scrunched up from the stench of the many magical animals that lived within the confined space, she vowed to make her trip as quick as possible; she would just have to find a cat, get some more supplies to take care of the two animals, and get out. At least, that was the plan she had initially had upon entering the store. Once she had arrived at her destination, she knew that the trip was not going to be so simple. Looking at all the kittens that there were to choose from, Carson knew that this task was going to be difficult indeed. They were all so cute that she was sure she was going to have a difficult time in deciding on which she was going to take.]'Oh goodness, this is going to be harder than I thought. She thought as she began to look at the cats, a smile upon her face as she started her search. They were all so cute!
