Harry is hard to describe in the way of how he looks. His clothes are usually messy and torn from having run about all day, he's usually got a mud splosh on himself somewhere and his hair is usually a mess but that's not what is hard to describe about Harry.
For a fourteen year old boy it's hard to look older than you are but Harry just does. He doesn't put any work into looking older he just looks that way, however when people guess his age they seem to guess younger than they think because he has such a baby face. Harry has an old baby face. Strange combination perhaps so let's stick to the simple stuff.
Harry comes from a very tall family, he's five foot eight inches and still growing, he's the height of most seventh years which is possibly another reason why he gets confused for being older. He's kind of skinny looking for his height but that's usually because his clothes are a size too big, he likes to be comfy in baggy clothes though come summer time he's usually shirtless.
Harry doesn't see himself as handsome, he's not the vain type, he would rather enjoy life than worry about how he looks which means on occasion his zipper is undone when he leaves the toilet or he has food on the side of his face after a meal, he feels that at the end of every day he has a shower, so what does it matter how messy he gets?

Harry is a bit of a smart-arse to say the least. He's a kid that's eaten one too many of the blue smarties and he literally bounces off the walls no matter where he is. Harry doesn't care for his social surroundings, he is one to find fun in anything, anywhere, anytime.
Sharing a dorm with Harry is probably quite nerve-wracking at times. He's young boy that likes to always be active. He likes to play games, he likes to scare people and he loves pulling pranks, there is nothing that can stop this guy.
Harry doesn't really have much of a soft side he rather prefers to be the rambunctious, 'you can't catch me' kind of kid and he has that odd way of flirting with girls and guys alike because he's a kid that knows what he likes. Did he yank your ponytail a little too hard? Well build a broom and fly over it! That's his motto!
Somewhere deep down Harry is a smart kid but he puts everything off in order to have fun, he'd rather stay up all night, plotting pranks or annoying girls than revise for a test or do his homework.
Needless to say Harry has found himself in detention one too many times but that's mostly because of his attitude to thinking he can do what he likes, when he likes, being an only child meant that he literally got away with everything.

Harry was born to Henry and Sammy Polts towards the end of summer. The weather was fairly warm and he was all the couple ever wanted. After a couple of miscarriages and the eventual pregnancy and birth of harry they decided to leave it a while before they tried again for another child but they were so content that they never got around to trying again.
To say Harry was spoilt was a bit of an understatement, he was spoiled rotten quite literally, he got everything he wanted and became a rather demanding, naughty child that always expected whatever he wanted, when he wanted it, if he didn't get what he wanted when he wanted it he would throw the most extreme of tantrums. he would break china and glass, bang on the walls and scream, kick doors and jump up and down on the spot, demanding attention and of course, his parents gave him every drop f attention they could spare to calm their little prince down.
Harry still hasn't grown out of that behaviour but he has calmed down a little and his parents have learnt to try and cut it off before it stops with distractions, promises of a big birthday present or a trip to the zoo or anything he wants, he loves going over seas and has been taken multiple times just to stop his tantrums. Lucky for his parents they have well payed positions in their chosen career paths.
Aside from a lot of tantrums thrown by himself, nothing exciting ever went on in Harry's childhood, there were no traumatic experiences, both his sets of grandparents are alive and spoil him rotten along with his parents and all his pets he's ever wanted and gotten he's been emotionally detached from so when they died he didn't care, he barely spent anytime with them unless he wanted to, he took no responsibility for them and were always cared for by the family house elf his mother and father were given as a gift by Samantha's mother and father when they got married.
Hogwarts was a whole new world to Harry, he could no longer throw tantrums or lash out at people like he had done with his parents and so he took to causing mischief wherever he went. He landed himself in detention after detention for the first two years of school and his parents had been to see the Head Teacher multiple times, he was given a choice. Calm down or be expelled. This did not sit happily with Harry and all hell broke loose. He was suspended for two weeks and his parents started to become strict with him when they were home but they spent a lot of time at their offices and so barely saw Harry and it was when he was alone that Harry started plotting pranks which couldn't be traced back to him.
Harry was the one to release Pixies into the Divination classroom while the Professor was out, Harry was the one to put a boggart in the girls bathroom on the third floor, Harry was the one to release five hormonal Fire Crabs around the castle numbered 1, 2, 3, 4 and 6. Some believe number five still hasn't been found and there are rumours that it lives in the castle walls, of course Harry knows the truth, there never was a number five and those were just a few of his more favourite things to do at Hogwarts.
Thanks to his parents money he can ask for whatever he wants and he still gets it without much hesitation, as long as he doesn't throw tantrums his parents believe they're raising a well mannered boy with a love of pranks, which is true for the most part, they're just unaware of most of his actual pranks, some people get hurt but no one's died so Harry just finds it all hilarious.
