It was not unusual during Hogsmeade weekends for Lucien's three sons to skip haunting the village with friends altogether, and spend the two days at home with their father and their home comforts. It was the reason Roux had moved to Hogsmeade when his boys were young, so that they would always be close to home, and having them with him for Hogsmeade weekends was just an added bonus to that. However, today was Sunday, and Ollivier and Theodore had spent all of yesterday with him, so they wanted to spend the day having fun around the village with their friends before they were back to school tomorrow, so Tristan was the only one home today.
This was fine with Lucien, he often thought that he needed as much quality time with his eldest son as possible, since Tristan was more prone to lashing out and rebelling, and things could be tense with them sometimes. Roux hated that kind of atmosphere between them, but this weekend had seemed easier, and Tristan had even had a great idea of something they could do as a family bonding exercise, which also happened to involve Roux's brother, Nethalin. The boys got to see their Uncle every day at school, so they had a good relationship with Neth, but Lucien had had a bit of trouble over the years with his brother, and things were strained, currently. They hadn't seen each other for a long time, outside of catching each other on a flying visit to their parents, which had been totally unplanned.
Roux had agreed that it was about time, indeed, that they buried the hatchet - he had no idea what the hatchet was this time, nor did he want to go over it until he was blue in the face - and started acting like brothers again. Lucien wasn't one to fall out with people, and though his brother was reckless and hot headed, Roux loved him unconditionally. So Neth fell out with him every now and then and they didn't speak for months at a time here and there, it didn't change anything in the grand scheme of things. And inviting Nethalin around for dinner this evening was a great idea, Lucien had agreed with his son, loving the smile it had put on Tristan's face. Lucien had cooked tea, steak and chips, something he knew his brother always loved, and planned on taking Neth and Tristan over to the Three Broomsticks afterward for some drinks on the house. Tristan was of age now, so he would be able to join in and feel more included. Roux was pottering around the kitchen of their small home when there was a knock at the door.
